Edit: After some more research its better to use Analog pot, rator is near impossible to use digipot.
As im beginning my prelude on building a high wattage box mod I would like to clearifly some questions I have reguarding using a Digital Pot for a Raptor and or OKL2 board. At this point I have not decided on the exact board that I would like to use, but lets begin.
As I understand at this point, Digital pots work in similar function as a analog one does but the digi ones requires a steady input voltage. My problem comes from the exact digipot to use and the wiring of the device. For reference in this example I used DS1809-010+ Maxim Integrated | Mouser
the device has these terminals
VCC - Supply Voltage
RH - High End of Resistor (purpose?)
RL - Low End of Resistor (purpose?)
RW - Wiper Terminal (wire to trim)
UC - Up Control Input
DC - Down Control Input
STR - Storage Enable Input (for a cpu)
GND - Ground
I would like to use 2 switches for up control and down control but my problem comes when I start looking at RH and RL. Looking at this diagram.....

It seems that RH takes postitive voltage in and RL would be returning voltage to batt and the RW would be the actual control to the trim connector on the VV board. It seems if that was true then the board could be wired internally to do this by a bridge, so im assuming I have to be wrong. Also the OKL2 has a single trim connector so I would logically connect wiper control to that. But the Raptor has + and - trim so how would I wire that device, connect wiper to + trim and ignore - trim?
Please advise me on the best Digital pot to use for these devices to control them correctly, the wiring and the purpose of RH and RL.
Thank you so much
