Tobeco Velocity clone is super easy to build and holds 15+ drops of juice. Infinite CLT2+ is my other fave. Older model, but it has a deep well and big air. Also holds about 15 drops. GA Rampage holds a TON of juice (20 - 25 drops) and has good air flow, but it's designed for 3 coils and it's a lil tricky to build on.
When you build your velocity do you put extra cotton at the bottom?

Here's a pic. The next time I re-wicked, I left a bit more cotton at the top and fanned the tails out more. Seems to work a lil better.

Nope. I have a vertical build in it and I fan out the tails a lil bit, but you can see lots of bare metal in the bottom. A cotton cloud in the bottom of a RDA actually decreases the capacity a bit and makes it wick slower.

I agree 100 %. I don't put a cotton cloud in the base of my Freakshow Mini ( my only rda.)

Just fluffy tails that reach the bottom of the juice well..

nobody mention chuff cap;

I don't have an rda with chuff cap, but there are a few, and it's worth a look;

chuff cap is where you can take off just the top and look down inside without interfereing with the wick or spilling stuff

The Petri by DotMod has one of those.

Deep juice wells. No spitting. No leaking. Perfectly balanced un-adjustable air flow (IMO), is a lovely design and beautifully engineered.

I did have some trouble using thinner wire at first, until I realised that threading it diagonally through the post holes made everything easier (version 1.5).

I'm not an expert on RDA's, I only own this one and a Derringer, but I now love the Petri and it's the only one I use.

The Atty 3 (cubed) is a 4 post deck. It was both my first dripper and first dual coil anything. It's ok to build on as long as you've got really thin wire clippers. If you don't, it can be a PITA to clip the 2nd installed coil, due to the first installed coil sitting directly in the path of that post. Clapton builds require the first coil to be clipped but loose to position and clip the 2nd coil, which is always kind of a hassle. Also, if you're OCD like me, the fact that the coils sit offset from center might bug you a bit. You can center them by running a longer leg to the end posts, but eh, OCD again. It does have a nice deep juice well, and major air flow.

Velocity decks are by far the best, most versitle, easiest to build on IMAO of course.

here's a pic of the petri showing the chuff cap.

Is that a picture of the clone @edyle ?

I notice that the two screws holding down the insulator are cross heads (Philips) where on the original they are smaller hex screws, and the post hole screws are also completly wrong and don't have the side walls with grooves.

Also the post holes seem to be different sizes between the positive post and negative, and generally the build quality and materials look off?

@Hans Wermhat

That's correct the Petri takes a standard 510 drip tip.

I believe @edyle was just talking about the convenience of being able to remove the top cap, which comes in very handy for dripping and inspecting both cotton and build.

Perhaps the Petri should be classed as chuff cap enabled, as you can use a chuff cap on it.

I have one Rda looking for a new one and this thread will help me a lot.

I have a tugboat I run it at .6 ohms I get good flavor and decent clouds seems to hold a pretty good amount of juice as well never any problems

Finally some love for the Tugboat!!!

She's looking for a tootle puffer rig.

She may find with a dripper that 1.5 coil can take a little more horsepower. Or she may not.

The Tugboat V1 has very restricted air flow by RDA standards but still many many times more then her Kabuki's. It might be just what she's looking for. I drilled mine out which turned it into a whistle.

The Tugboat V2 has much better air flow but can also be closed off to Kayfun/Kabuki levels.

The use the same deck and its very easy to build on single or dual.

Just a great RDA for low to moderate air flow.

While the authentic Flawless Tugboat V2 has come down in price I will mention the Lawless Steamboat also.

A Petri would be nice, but they're $100 not including the drip tip. Sapors do have insulator problems. Don't jump the gun. Velocity is over-recommended and I'm not too big a fan of it. There's a ton of hype behind it and I personally find - even with all those airflow options - the vape to be kinda average.
Something to check out would be the STRO OG Mini. It's got a 2 post design, like the velocity, but room for builds between the posts & AFC control in the drip tip. Also has the single coil option. And it's only $34.99 for an authentic.
Also an Aeolus Lite for $39.99 can't really be beat. It's a top airflow design (helps to prevent leaks), four post hole - 2 in the centerpost block - and comes with a standard 510 DT & a widebore DT. All that and you'd love the color selection :)

Edit:
The picture of the Petri clone does not show any chuff cap. And the link to the "FT Petri v1.5" clone shows a v1 deck. No chuff cap, but a clone dotmod DT. And the deck is completely wrong.
I personally have or had the Sapor, Velocity, & Petri. I threw out my second Sapor after a week and a half because the second one broke on me. I barely use the velocity.
My Petri is a v1 (standard Phillips screws, not the thumb screws), I've had it almost a year and it's been consistently in my atty rotation. I was planning on buying a v1.5, but I thought with my luck, dotmod would announce a v2 release 2 weeks after I bought it like what happened to me when I got my v1 haha.
I stand by my recommendations though, with the STRO OG mini or an Aeolus Lite.
