So I'm new to this whole e-cig thing I started because I go for surgery in a few months and wanted to quit or at least be able to have something to tide me over in the hospital. I bought the Joy e-cigs (Joy Electronic Cigarette Starter Kit) because they were fairly cheap and seemed to have everything we needed for my boyfriend and I. I however, have found that they are hard to find information about and the same goes for cartridges. I want to try different flavors as I have a sweet tooth and have always enjoyed trying the different things Camel came out with. I just don't know if the same cartridges will work if I re-fill them or if there are different cartridges I can just buy to make things simpler. I do know it is a three piece cigarette. The battery, atty, and the cartridge. If anyone can help me it would be most appreciated and welcomed!

Welcome to ECF.

I just looked at the link you provided. That doesn't look like a Genuine Joye product. Its spelled Joy instead Joye. It is probably just fine tho. And you are right, there is not much info on that web site about it.

Yes, you can and should refill cartridges.

Order some juice from say Freedomsmokeusa.com. They have hundreds of flavors and eventually you will find one you really love.

You should order several small bottles of different varieties. Don't order anything larger than 5ml until you find the ones you like. There will be some you just can't stand and some you love. Everybody's taste is different so I can't really recommend any specific flavors.

Freedom Smokes 3ml samplers are all 24mg. Thats another thing to be aware of....nicotine strength. Try different strengths ranging from 11mg to 24mg.

Next time you are in the market for a new E-cig, try here: https://www.cignot.com/category_s/23.htm These are genuine Joye products, and are less expensive than the one you have.

Cartridges for that model are inexpensive, quite so for "blank" cartridges. Blank means they are not prefilled with juice. You can pick up some blank carts at Cignot (look for standard & 510 & cartridge in the description).

So, with new carts and your existing carts, you just need to add juice. There are plenty of juice suppliers here on ECF. Heck, even Cignot carries juice.
I'm sure others will chime in with their favorite juice supplier... Very soon or maybe before I get this reply up...

I was told it should be a 510 slim. I don't know what voltage it is yet. I did email the company to ask them. I was concerned with refilling them seeing as I'm totally a newb and not used to any of this. I would rather try different cartridges that are pre-filled so I don't have to do it just yet. But I will end up working towards diy.

Hi Miss and welcome - Re- filling is a simple matter of taking the cartridge off And filling with drops of the liquid of your choice. The bottles the liquid comes in are re-fill friendly. They only drip when you squeeze. So you drop drips in your cart (say 8 drops) until you see it wont take any more. Takes about a minute tops. I'm only telling you this so that when you do decide to refill, yourself, you have the heads up. It soooo much cheaper.

That simple.... really? and how often can you reuse the fiber in the cartridges?

This may sound flippant, but until it gets gunked up. Then pull it out, rinse it out, trim any scorched parts off and insert to use again.

You can also replace it with like material, or use different material. Using different material is called, "Cart Mod-ing" and there is a bunch of threads on the subject. (I use Marineland Rite-Size U foam sleeves, an aquarium filter, that I cut to fit the cart. It works better than the stock filler material for me.)

Miss kitty - yeah it is that easy. Amazing isn't it ? I just fill up my cart over and over (about 20 times) with whatever flavour. Sometimes tastes a bit bizarre for a couple/few draws bit i'm not a flavour purist or anything. I'll vape anything i can tolerate...lol.

I would recommend RY4, caramel, and if you used to smoke menthol then a menthol. But there are 100's of flavours to try.

bzzzzzzzzzzzzz - miss_kitty did not say Joye. She said Joy Ecigs which is a not-a-510 company that sold some mystery model that is NOT a 510 and then no longer had any cartridges available.

My first suggestion is give up on it and get something you can easily get parts for

Look here - it is not a 510
Look at the atomizer
Accessories

If it is a bit more than 9mm thick - maybe some kind of Joye 306 atty would work? Try a Joye 306 standard resistance atomizer and if that fits then get Joye 306 blank carts. Or maybe DSE103? It is not RN4081 since RN4081 has a slightly recessed bridge.

If it is less than 9mm thick then I don't know - some Chinese wholesaler model
Maybe L88B like the old Blu
blu atomizer - Google Search
blu atomizer - Google Search

All we can do is guess.

Try VaporSearchUSA.net to see if there is an ecig store near you that carries 510 and go there and see if 510 atomizer will fit? Or Joye 306?

-----------

Carts - yes they can last almost forever. You can add eliquid, you can wash/dry the plastic and replace the stuffing (with polyfill or fluval or many people like a particular blue aquarium foam you can a stuffing plug from). You can use carts a long long time.

Some vendor I saw lets you add menthol to anything tobacco. Maybe FreedomSmokeUSA but their RY4 is not sweet at all so don't get that one if you like sweet RY4. Their oRYental 4 on the other hand is very caramelly and sweet and I love it.

I think there is a FreedomSMokeUSA.com sale right now - code memorialday gets 25% off flavored juices.

Re carts - I am still using my first cart on my M401. Fairly soon the original stuffing gets too gunked/clumped and worn for reuse. I cut foam stuffing for it (you need Marineland RiteSize U Bonded Foam Sleeve from the aquarium dept of Petsmart). Eventually the blue foam got a bit frayed around the edges (from using an unbent paper clip to more/remove/push it into juice etc) and I cut another plug. Great stuff. Search youtube for M401 blue foam - shows how to cut foam stuffing but the guy in the video is a bit extreme. I usually cut it 2/3 the inner depth of the cart and very slightly wide - just enough to help ti stay in place without crushing the foam holes closed. And I taper the inner end a bit.

And for future reference - If you ever get some Joye 510 batteries then get a Joye 510 charger too because some "like a 510 w/ a different atomizer" models are the opposite electrical polarity and will melt each other's batteries. The L88B is that way. So never put a 510 battery in your Joycigs PCC or charger and vice versa.
