Help With Flavor problems

I hate to rush the 5 post rule but i have a problem that concerns me. I started vaping on a halo ecig and moved to a vamo v5 with protank 2. The flavor and vapor were ok but i wanted more. I got an igo-l yesterday and built my first coil (28gauge 8/9 wraps i forgot) and it was insane. So much flavor and vapor. So i decided i wanted even MORE. I built a dual coil with 15 wraps each (28gauge) and it was better, warmer vape and better flavor, but i did notice a big flaw. After filling it, 10 with cap off and 5 with on. The flavor/vapor was amazing the first 5 puffs but then it tasted weird. Not burnt but similar to caramel? Thats the closest thing it tastes like. Im not sure if theres a break in period, or my flavor cant handle the wattage(halo menthol ice). I usually vape 10-12watts. Ive looked for most common errors such as coil lighting when juice is in, too much liquid, too little liquid, im using silica and it was fine on the single coil so im not sure if thats it. I might take a look at cotton balls and see if it changes but for now im trying to figure it out. Thanks for reading i look foward to reading responses

Yeah the top cap. I meant drops

u might be putting too much liquid

and more wraps would mean higher resistence, so u might need to use more watttage

Do your coils start to get brown when you taste the caramel ? If so you need to burn your juice off or hit it until it's a little more dry the juice open just gets stale

I just took a toke right now (caramel tasting) and took the cap off. I checked the coils and they dont seem brown they look like i put them in.

I'm still confused about the second build. When you measured the dual coil in the IGO-L you are saying it was 2.0 or 2.4/2.5? Also, was your build stacked or side by side (given that the IGO-L's I'm familiar with are 2 post design) and did you drill out the airhole. It could be your 2nd build is not getting enough air for the amount of wicking material you are using or the airflow hole is not optimally placed for your build.

Sorry for the confusion im pretty new to rebuilding...and forums lmao. The coils were 2.4 and 2.5 ohms. Before i wicked it both coils were lighting up just fine. And yes my igo is drilled out close to 2mm airhole. Lastly the airhole obviously only covers one coil. Side note, i put some alpha vape "Mr.Miyagi" and it works just fine. It might be something with halos menthol ice.

I figured out a solution. Im posting this for other ecf members with the same issue. I found it to be the flavor i was using. I know it sounds weird but i tried 2 different flavors and they tasted good, REALLY good infact. No problems what so ever. Thanks to everyone who contributed to this thread.

I noticed something similar, when I tried my ADV (Vanilla Dream) in one of my RDAs.

FYI, cotton has a better flavor, it's cheaper, easier to wick. IMO, it also sucks up the juices easier.
