I am fairly new to vaping since august, started out with an ego c upgrade. Worked great till that broke on me last month. I got an itaste vv on recommendation and seem to be having issues with it.
1. Always seem to be charging it only holds a charge for about half a day if that. When I charge it, sometimes it will blink continuously until I unplug it sometimes 3-4 times before I can get it to charge. Or sometimes it just won't vape until I remove tank.
2. Threads have become loose not sure why it happened never over tighten or drop it.
3. Can't seem to find a good setting I get the best throat hit and vapor on 3.8 v and 8 w but can not taste the flavor or it is burnt. I am using a protank and a protank mini with 50/50 juice. The best flavor is on the lowest settings but then I seem to be getting no vapor. I had tried 60/40 juice with same results.
Any help or suggestions would be great Tia

ok, first as far as the charging problems? You may have a defective charger or the VV itself may be faulty. If you got it at a local vape shop, have them check it.

The amount of time you're getting with it sounds normal for that size battery. Folks sometimes carry two of them to last all day.

Now about your Protanks. You're experiencing what most people do with these tanks. There is lots of advise on how to fix that, but what works best IMO, is to gently remove the stem from the atomizer to gain access to the coil and wicks. You'll find two 1mm silica wicks sitting on top of 1 2mm silica wick and coil, those 1mm wicks are just called flavor wicks. By removing just one of them, can increase vapor production, but "may" also cause a little bit of flooding, so keep the piece you removed in case.

Here is a picture of what it looks like taken apart...and missing the two "flavor wicks"

The iTaste, when fully charged, will turn itself off, meaning you won't see any illumination coming from the fire/power button. It'll go from Red to Yellow to Green to Off, in that order. Only once that button turns off is it fully charged.

If it's doing anything other than that, either the charger is defective, the unit is defective, or your charging source (i.e. power outlet) is shorting. When I bought mine, the first one was defective and it simply wouldn't hold a charge at all. I took it back, got a new one and it's worked ever since. I don't use mine much anymore as I moved to the SVD as I wanted a battery, but I still use mine from time to time.

As for the threads, when you're threading the Protank, are you using the iTaste with the beauty ring on there? Those are more so designed not just to keep things flush, but to keep things stable. In other words, they keep the tank from bending the threads from side to side when pressure is placed on any side of the tank. If you're not using it, the tank isn't "held" in place by anything other than the center piece where the 510 connector is. You can strip threads by putting pressure on the tank sides, so if you're not using the ring, make sure you do from here on.

As for the Protank itself, the "flavor wicks", IMO, are completely useless and I always remove them. They result in more dry hits than I've ever had without them. If you're using 50/50 or 60/40 PG/VG or an extremely high VG juice, they need to be removed.

Once the flavor wicks are gone, I'd recommend allowing the juice to settle and soak in for 5-10 minutes and then vape at 7w starting and move up from there. I normally vape at 10-11 (mostly 10) and never have any issues without them in there.

Something is going on with that Itaste. I would make sure there is no condensation in the contacts. As fas as the protanks go I have replaced the silica in mine with cotton and get a much better vape. I use 1.8 ohm heads at 8 watts. I noticed you mentioned setting it at 3.8 volts and 8 watts. On the Itaste when you set the volts it is set and the watts are determined by the volts and Ohms of your coil. Same with wattage if you set it at 8 watts it senses the Ohms and adjusts the voltage to make it deliver the required 8 watts. you can not adjust both voltage and wattage. Did that make sense?

How hard are your draws? Are you drawing like you would a cigarette (sorta hard since there's really no restriction) or like you would drink a milkshake (i.e. slow and steady)?

If like a cigarette, you're drawing too hard and that's going to lead to burnt taste from dry wicks. While you don't have much resistance in a PV, you want to take nice slow draws. Not so slow you don't get any vapor, but slow enough to allow the air to pass over the coil at a nice and even pace. If you force air over the coil too quickly, your going to cool the coil in the process of it heating so fast that vapor is going to be absolutely minimal and the constant heating and cooling will cause that burnt taste.

That's with a tank. On an RBA/RDA, you can take harder draws because there's nothing standing in the way. Your mouth is as close as it's going to get to the coil and the air is coming in through the side (most of the time). With a tank, air comes in the bottom, up the center and hits that coil hard.
