I received my BSB today and I love it. I have 2 adapters I purchased from AltSmoke, both are 510 to KR808 and worked great up until these 'premium' cartos were released from various suppliers. I have about 25 blanks that won't work and some prefilled cartos also.

Has anyone run into this issue? It is not an airflow problem, it seems like the newest cartos will not screw all the way down onto the adapter. Not sure if I need to buy something else?

Thanks!

Yes the regular cartos work fine, there is a notch in the old ones and in the new ones.. it is a threading issue apparently but even if I screw the premium carto All the way down onto the adapter it still won't fire.
Crummy image attached from my iphone but the cart on top (white) is the older style that works. Bottom one is the premium.

hmm ok well I have tons of blanks so I can go home and start testing them to see if any work.. both types of cartos, however, work on my Protege but the KR808 adapter for the Protege is an entire cap piece so it can't be used on another mod... and both types work on my Xhaler (with Nhaler's 801 to Cartomizer adapter)

I had the very same thing happen with a premium "sample dunhill menthol" cartomizer that had been included with an order. Worked fine on my KR808D-1 bats but not at all on my mod with one of Rob's 510 to cartomizer adapters that I use all the time.

Have not had the problem again with the premiums I ordered from the same supplier....so far....(I haven't tried them all yet). I had forgotten all about it til I saw your post!

Actually the threadings are not the same, there are differences between the two however slight. More than likely the 'Premium' cartridges are not made by the same company that makes the KR808D's, otherwise they would've changed the threadings on the new one to be the exact same as the old ones.

They were made for the KR808D's not clones of the KR808D's. And that's my out :p Anyways we'll look into the next batch being compatible, but sadly I know of at least 4 places that have 'premium' cartridges now and the majority of the time they're not cross compatible with each other. So it would make it hard to make an adapter that is compatible with all the 'premium cartomizers' if suppliers are buying from multiple companies. IMore than likely something isn't making contact somwhere, we'll take a looksie :)

I rummaged around through the variety of cartos I have with me right now and I did find a couple of premiums that DO fit and work properly. It does seem to be an issue with the manufacturing of the carto threads and not the adapter. The ones that Do work screw on Very easily.. and I can tell if the carto is going to fail by the way it only screws down a couple of turns then stops. Ugh I hope all of the blanks I have are not trash.

Just read your post above mine halo and yes, I understand what you are saying. Thank you for looking into it. :)

So what are the differences between these 'Premium' cartridges vs 'Regular' KR808D's...I tried some and didn't really notice anything. I was expecting unicorns to start prancing through my living room when I tried it at first. Especially the way people have been talking about them lol

I have one of the premium cartos and I have a SB with a 510 to KR adapter and a protege along with the protege USB extension passthru.. The premium will work with the adapter on my protege at both 3.7 and 5 volts, but when i take it off and put it on the SB there is nothing.. Same premium carto and adapter used at 3.7 and 5 volts.. SO, the adapter/carto combo was working obviously fine at 3.7 and 5 volts with a different model, but not on my SB... No idea why, i've been wondering for 2 days...

Shouldn't this thread be at V4L sub forum. To ask them why there is inconsistency in the product. Even making some of there own batteries/pt not work right. How can altsmoke help??? Make an adapter just for those carto's??? The cost of it won't be cheap at first either. Oh and halopunker to answer your question about the difference between normal and prem carto's. If you put both up to your ear you can kind of hear it the prem carts activates faster and stronger the sizzle is a bit more louder then the normal 1s just a little bit. With V4L newer batteries with the larger holes. Thats y i like to get normal 808 blanks and fill my own.

Well it is not just the V4L 'premiums'.. I bought 5 boxes of blanks from another supplier and the first few I tried did not work. I am going through the blanks though and am finding that some Do fit so I guess this is just an issue with the way the cartos are manufactured.

I tested my blanks.. out of 25 blanks from Non-V4L supplier 15 will not thread onto the adapter properly. Out of 5 V4L blanks I did find one faulty but the rest work ok. When I tried my pre-filled 'premiums' from V4L it was hit and miss with those. Honestly I am about to step away from the kr808 cartos if they are this unreliable.. I have some 510 cartomizers on order so maybe those will work better.. at least it's a standard 510 connection. I wasn't blaming altsmoke for this fiasco at all.. I just wanted to make sure I had the right adapter for what I was trying to do.. and it seems the adapter is fine but the cartos are screwy. Thanks for everyone's input!
