Hi, I hope you are enjoying your Memorial Day weekend.

Will you please help me understand how a boxmod works? I see that some boxes have a juice bottle inside of them that feeds the juice continuously? What does it mean when they say bottom feeder vs. top feeder?

Will there ever be a PV that does not require a seperate atomizer? Is there something that's even close to that concept now?

Maybe the whole 5v, 14665, PT, wires stuff looks too much like algebra and I can't get my head around it. Is there a good go-to guide that explains this stuff to someone who can't understand physics/basic chem. I drive a tractor for a living.

thanks, friend

Kirssstens, just for example since there are a few models. - there is the "Mr.Puffer" which is a 'top feeder'. There is a line that is hooked to the juice bottle in one side of the box mod, that comes in at the cart/atomizer level and then dispenses ejuice just as if you were dripping into the atomizer or filling a cart.

Then there is the 'Wetbox' which uses a cartomizer instead of a cartridge and there is a needle tip top to the 3ml juice bottle that goes through the center of the battery connected in the box and up through the bottom of the cartomizer and dispenses ejuice to the filler inside the cartomizer - hence 'bottom feeder'.

The other side of the box is the battery and usually there is an activation switch as well as an on/off switch. There is a 'half moon' cut in the box that lets you squeeze the bottle, although some use a button that presses against the bottle.

Will there ever be a PV that does not require a seperate atomizer?

Who knows? :) There needed some source to vaporize the liquid.

And not all box mods are juice feeders. Functionally, a box mod is no different from a tubular mod, just a different shape. The first box mods, e.g., Nicowolf's classic NicoStick, were based on inexpensive Radio Shack plastic boxes and electical connections. More recently, many have evolved into wooden objects de arte (e.g., the Phidias Woodimus) and/or the juice injectors described by Kent and Kurt.

There already are PV's that don't require a separate atomizer. They are called cartomizers (i.e., integrated cartridge and atomizer). But if you mean atomizer integrated with power source, you'd have to look outside "electronic" cigarettes to butane-powered devices like the Ploom or iolite ... or something I've heard of called an analog.;)
