You won't. And the 10 sec cut off is designed to protect your mod and batteries. ALL regulated mods have that feature in them.

10 seconds is a LONG time. No way you would need more than that. I know we all have our own styles here but seriously...

I used to hit the 10sec cutoff when I was vaping cartomizer tanks at under 10watts. Since moving to rebuildables (mostly rdas now) I average 3sec pulls. Never getting remotely close to a cutoff. Not that I am advising it, but a mechanical mod will not have any time limit (or any other safety features).
That said, you will be hard pressed to find a regulated device that has a longer than 10sec cutoff, if they even exist.

I think for my first e cig I would go for the istick 50 watt with a sub ohm tank of your choice, maybe the arctic or something similar.

+1 on the Arctic. I didn't mess with prefab subtanks much, but that one was the best one I used. The Atlantis was a close 2nd though.
