It has already been suggested, but you might seriously consider the Innokin MVP, if you have not already.

It is a self contained unit that charges via a mini usb port/cable, rather than relying on separate rechargeable batteries. It will use pretty much any 510 or ego threaded juice delivery device.

My mother tried to claim mine after she played with it for an hour or so, this after her experience with ego style 600–800 mah batteries.

While the idea of the Innokin MVP is nice with a usb charger port, it's just not practical for me. It'd be like holding a cigarette box in my hand all the time. Thanks though :/

...I don't think the vamo is even that small...

the vamo, v2 or v3, in any setup is still pretty tall. They are also somewhat heavy for their size. Not crazy big or heavy, but defnitely not a good choice if you want something small. That being said, you'd be hard up to find any regulated device that isn't at least 50% taller than a mechanical because of the space needed for the circuit boards.

Yah.. that isn't appealing to me.. I'm seriously considering the zmax mini
