There is better device than Vamo, right now you can get an Innokin SVD for under $41 from Venerable Vaping the cheap Ego E-Cigerette store or for ~$38 from FastTech
When stepping into APV territory you need to acquire batteries and a good charger.

If is the first foray in VW get a 1300 Spinner or a Twist , currently they're pretty cheap but an AVP (Vamo, SID or SVD) is definitely better than that on the long run plus they all can work as ohm-meters allowing you to start rebuilding your coils.

For use about & about go for a Twist or a Spinner. I have both and prefer the Spinner cos it's fatter so it sits better when you put it on a table, and the volts you have it set to is far easier to read.

For indoors go for the Vamo. It's not high maintenance at all, just pop in a battery and away you go. You can get a set from fasttech.com which includes a decent charger and two of the big batteries for about fifty bucks. Make sure you get the one with the nitecore charger if you go this way.

Personally, I prefer the Winder for a more compact VV device to carry. The dial is tighter, prevents accidental changes, and the Voltage markings are more detailed. The actual diameter varies in the 900-100-1300 mah. I prefer the 1300mah diameter for comfort.
For the big boy, you just can't go wrong with a Vamo considering bang for buck (as low as $40) but they weigh a bunch and the finish leaves much to be desired.

If this will be your first VV anything, try a Twist or Spinner first, especially if you already have an eGo charger. Least $$$ investment involved to introduce you to the world of VV.

Once you decide what you like about it, that will lead to more complex questions about where to spend bigger bucks on the VV and or VW APV of your choice - and the field is big and can get pricey. It would be hard to argue you made a mistake starting with a Twist. But even tripling that amount and skipping right to something else can lead to expensive "regrets."

I have a Sigelei Zmax. Fantastic device, I love it a lot, I love the battery life, telescoping that allows me to run damn near any battery I please, performance, etc etc...

BUT

I still use the heck outta my Smoov Rev/Twist clone. There is nothing wrong with them, IMO, as a toe dipper into VV/VW. You can easily pick them up for somewhere between $15-$25.

Just gonna throw it out there, but the itaste mvp is pretty awesome. What features it lacks against other devices, it more than makes up for in battery life. I'm pretty sure it can power a small city.

+1
I love this thing. Going on two days and the light is still green. Box mods feel great in the hand, and it's much shorter than a lot of mods out there.
