Hi there!

So, I am currently using a 510 (standard that came with the starter kit etc). It's working quite well, but since I switched from analogs to only vaping, the battery just doesn't last as long as I'd like (I have 3 batteries that I rotate lol). :( I don't mind fidling with parts and pieces, that's actually one of the things I enjoy about vaping :D

I absolutely love clearomizers, so would prefer to get something that will work with some of the bits and pieces I already have.

Some of the things I am interested in are:

Boge Revolution V2.1
The things that concern me about the Boge Revolution are: would I be able to use a clearomizer with it? I do have some cartomizers, but I find that the filling in those often irritate my throat - I've tried a few of the SR brands and although some are clearly superior, they also irritate my throat after a while, I'm sure it's not the juice as I don't have the same problem when putting that juice in my clearos.

From what I have seen/ read that seems to be its only downside for me.

Ego-T (1100mAh)
I am interested in trying a tank kit as it doesn't contain fiber like the cartos and the carts, but I am hesitant because of the leaking issues I have heard about. How bad is it? I also heard that clearos leak, but so far mine have been fine.

Lavatube L-Rider VV
I may be going crazy, but I can't seem to see anywhere if this supports 510 thread. If it does this may be the one for me. I haven't seen any negative feedback on it that concerns me (yet). Is there anything I should be concerned about?

VISIONS Variable Voltage 650 (from electro vapors)
I like this one as it seems simple and I know that it will use the parts I have already :)

Are there any other suggestions? The Pro-Vari is a bit too expensive for me :D

(I would prefer to buy from a Canadian Supplier which is why I posted in here).

Another cat?

Hi Samy, sounds like you're ready for stage 3 : If you’re new, this WILL be you. « Zombienerd's PV Blog

I'd suggest you look at the Joyetech eGo-C with 1000mah batteries - the tanks don't leak like the ego-T & the battery will last all day. The eGo-C's battery will also light up to indicate low battery level.

There is also a new clearomizer(Vision Stardusts) comming out shortly, designed for the eGo style batteries. The 2 paired up, should make a great vape.

Yeah 510 standard was lots of work when I was on it lol,

cheap solution get a usb passthrough.

Portable cheap solution Ego/Riva/torch/whatever rebranded big batt 510.

Less cheap solution Big Chuck or similar 18650 tube mod. Also in less cheap would be an ego or torch kit all depends on what your looking for.

Getting pricey Reo grand/mini Ali'i these both behave like the boge revo but are built out of higher quality materials, and you pay like it.

Expensive Darwin/Provari not at this level myself but some folks swear by em, they're probably right.

Just my 2 pennies, glad it's workin for ya so far tho.

EDIT : Never had a problem getting hardware from any part of the world, although I do agree in principle with supporting our vendors, we just don't have selection like our neighbours to the south yet, but it's getting better

Need more dogs around here ;)

Welcome samy :)

I'll have to change my avatar. I have 3 Pugs lol

Welcome to the forum Sam.

I just ordered the Rev 2.1 I'll let you know how it works out. I like the idea of not having to bring a lot of stuff with me when I go out. I have a tank model but not completely sold on it, I like the clearos & dripping better.

The eGo C does look promising, I'll likely pick up the atty & cone to give it a try.

Good luck with what ever you choose, you'll notice a big change from your 510.

Samyaza, you've listed all sorts of different animals. Bottom feeder, tank system, variable voltage...

What exactly are you looking for?

If you just want to use your clearomizers, then might as well just bump it up and buy yourself an Ego. The advantages of a bottom feeder are pretty low if you're using a clearomizer. It's really for drippers who use atomizers. Sure, you can use cartomizers too ( dunno about clearos)... just saying it benefits drippers the most.

Variable voltage is great for people who use different atomizers or who want to experience high voltage vapes. I myself find that LR on a 3.7 V device works so well for me that I don't care for VV.

As for the Ego-T atomizers, they are ok. I liked the vape for some flavors, but I eventually got annoyed with the atomizers. They seem finnicky. Some will leak (rare, imo), some will have a super tight draw after a few days (not uncommon), and some the vapor production just blows. And cleaning them is annoying. They take forever to dry out, and never seem to get back to their prime. Oh and back to the flavors - most flavors taste worst in the tank. Not gross, but muted. I think tobacco flavors tasted best in them.

By the way, there are tons of 3.7 volt mods out there, the vast majority of which are 510 threaded. If you want to take it one step further than the Ego... maybe start with this website and have fun browsing: Best e-Cig Mod List | e-Cig Mods Database

I would say look at a ego with usb passthrough. The best thing about them is even if it is your only battery you have on you, and it gets a bit low, you don't have to wait for it to charge. You can charge and vape at the same time. that and 1100mah will most likely last you the whole day and then some on a 2.4ohm clearomizer.

Wow, thanks for all the responses! Sorry I am actually a cat person, we have 3 overlords ;)

@Toronto_Mike - that is hilarious! (and so true lol)

@Concat - I wasn't sure exactly what I wanted yet as I am still so new. All I knew is that I wanted a bigger battery with a way to get the taste I do with my clearos. I had a look at the mod website and I think I'll have to move onto there a bit later. There is just way too much I don't know yet to be buying from there lol. Thanks for the info about the 3.7, I wasn't particularly interested in a VV, just really wanted to be able to use LR carts etc.

To everyone else.... lol, I guess the Ego C it is. I totally missed it when looking at things somehow o_O. It seems to be about the right price for a starter kit and I'll be able to try a tank system as well as keeping my beloved clearos - yay!

Just one more question - I can only see the 650mAh batteries (even on NicFit), am I missing something?

Thanks again for all your help :)

Welcome to vaping! I'd avoid the revolution, I just got mine and while I think it's great for day trips and what not it does not actually work all that great considering the cost. the needles bend easily if not inserted JUST right and they dont put out much vape.

I also am just exploring beyond my basic 808 starting point and so far from what I have spent on a VARIETY of different units trying to get the long life, comfort and vaping experience this vv eGo ego variable voltage ego ksd 3.2 3.7 4.2 pass through usb 900mAh 5 click electronic cigarette e-cig smoke vape vaper vapor vapour is GREAT! It has a basic variable voltage, long life AND allows passthrough plus it'll work with any of the 510 threaded carto's you might have on hand.

As far as carto's go there is a HUGE variety out there and really the only way to know is to try them all. I'm in that process right now ;)

Good luck finding the right "fit" for you!

So many good suggestions here, i want to throw my hit in with the Lavatube. Even though you are not into VV yet the battery life alone is worth the purchase. I can get nearly 2days vaping on one battery. Great price on it here but it is available from many vendors. Also you may want to check out the EVO, I am personally gonna grab one of there beauties next week, it has 3 different voltage selections and what i have seen from reviews really kicks ... with LR stuff. Just a couple more suggestions ;)

Thanks for all the advice guys :)

I have pre-ordered the Joyetech eGo C 900mah from onestopeshoppe (Kevin was very helpful about the eta etc). It should be in stock in about a month and I am sure I can hold out for that much longer to get something I really like.

The Lavatube was one I liked, but I can't get over it's looks :/ I'd prefer a box mod to it sadly.

I'm sure I'll want to let everyone know about it as soon as it arrives lol

Kevin's a great guy. I purchased my eGo-T 1000mah kit from OneStop - best purchase, I've made thus so far. Some words of advice from someone who's had the eGo-C for a couple of weeks - get a pack or 2 of the spare heads for the C & 10 to 20 of the tank caps either hard plastic or soft rubber. I've noticed no difference. The hole in the caps gets slightly enlarged over time with refills & can cause leaking. I noticed this today. I've been re-using the tank for over a week. The C heads can also develop wicking issues(clogged) with thicker juices. Since, I'm lazy & don't blow them out - a head is lasting me a week. Results of all of this will solely depend upon the user. I take mine outside & inside all day & refill it approx 4 times daily with a slightly thick e-juice from Flavour Crafters. Hope this helps.

i know everone says ego and they are a good device but for most people the ego is just a stepping stone. you buy one and a month latter your looking for something bigger and better lol. the ego-t isnt worth the time of day to fiddle with it, the battery are good but the T part stands for trouble, i personally couldn't get any good out of the tank system, alot of dry burns and pretty much tried everthing so i tore the attys apart and just dripped into them, i would keep the money on the ego and get a bigger mod with something with an 18650 batter that you will get 2 days use out of. i would recomend the lava tube, they are pretty cheap, come with 2 18650 battery and variable votage. they also have a 510 connection
