Hi Everyone-
I'm really interested in trying to use this device but the information out there is overwhelming. I smoke about a pack a day. I have quit before but obviously never stopped forever.
To be honest- the main reason I want to do this is I am in healthcare and I am sick of trying to cover the smoke smell and the stigma that comes along with it. I have some medical problems and quite frankly smoking helps me but I don't want to stink anymore but I am not ready to stop smoking today.
I have chewed "n" gum in the past and it helped but I think I missed the behavior of smoking.
I know everyone has their opinion about what version they like- I don't think I am going to be that picky. I would want to look at cost affectiveness. I'd also would like to make sure I have all the bits and pieces so I can smoke at home and still in my car.
Can someone give me some advice?? What kind of kit did you buy??
Does someone have a favorite store to buy from?? Any favorite models out there that a lot of ppl like?
(Sigh!) I have no idea where to start and what to buy. I think I'll do ok with this thing and I am so looking forward to not smelling like smoke. Maybe someday I can finally quit too!!
Thx M

Welcome, Meleggs! I'd suggest reading the Wonderful World of Vaping in the ECF Library to get a basic idea of this whole e-cig thing. Will give you a better idea of what style you might be interested in as well.

Personally, I went straight for a Janty eGo as I needed long battery life and reliability. It's basically a 510 model on steroids. For juice, there are several good venders. I recommend Tasty Vapor and Mrs. T's.

WERD Proton5 !
I swear by it, goto Vapor4Life and pick up a good kit ( 2 batteries, charger, personal charging case) and whatever flavors of cartomizers your heart desires. You wont spend a fortune and you will have a fantastic (the best in my opinion) starter kit!!!

With the VaporKing starter kit you will not experience 1/2 the issues others did when trying to convert. You will get a rock solid product and more importantly a device that will save you life, so to speak.

I see post every day here from people that "Spent $200 at the mall and this thing sucks!". Dont be one of them =D

I would also like to add that the VaporKing is a 2 piece design "so easy a cave man could do it"! There is no "modding" needed, and you wont spend you days at work searching for fixes, support, tweaks, etc.

I am not affiliated with Vapor4Life in any way, just a user that was able to quit in a single day using their VaporKing. GrimmGreen once said "this is a life altering device", and he was correct.

Welcome aboard, and I hope you have success !!

Welcome aboard meleggs,

The first thing to realize is that vaping is not smoking. They are two different activities. Although similar, when you burn tobacco, you are getting nicotine into your system in about the most effective way that modern chemistry and millions of research dollars can produce. When you vape, you are ingesting a fine steam vapor that contains less nicotine (but a better flavor) than a similar drag on a cigarette. You should, at first, feel you need to vape some more than you smoked for this reason. And you may need to supplement your vaping with smoking.

A good kit to buy can be found by clicking on the Forum Suppliers link at the top of every page here at ECF. For a beginner, many would recommend : Vapor4Life-Because it's your life - E-Cigarettes/Smoking Alternatives
Don't go for the 'Free Trials' offers online or the kiosks at the mall. Or (most of the time) the units that may be at the cigarette shop.

There is an overwhelming amount of information to sort through here at ECF. If you have a question, don't hesitate to post it.

You'll find a lot of opinions and advice on different products on the forum and most of that advise is well worth noting. My advice is patience. Read, read, and read this forum, search topics and ask questions. I'm no expert but I'd even welcome a pm if you need too. Do enough research to be comfortable with deciding what to buy and what to do with it when you get it. I lurked around here for 2 or 3 weeks before deciding to purchase an M401 Dragon from truesmoker. I wasn't quite sure if that was the unit for me but I felt knowledgeable enough to give it a try and see how it went.

At first I had to have a smoke first thing in the am for about a week before totally getting off cigs and I still use the M401 even though I've since gotten a 510.

One thing is for certain, if your here, and not at a kiosk at the mall or on the phone with "smoking everywhere" or something like it, your in the right place to get good real world advice from people who want to see you succeed.
