Henderson County school district ban nicotine

3rd paragraph from the bottom

The board approved final reading on its tobacco policy, which
now states that nicotine products including electronic cigarettes,
nicotine gum, patches and other similar products are not permitted
to be used or possessed on property owned or operated by the school
board, inside board-owned vehicles, on the way to and from school,
or during school-sponsored trips and activities. Students who have a
doctor's order or prescription for these products shall provide the
school with a copy to be kept on file.

1. Seems fairly unenforceable. A patch can be worn under the clothing. Unless they also ban gum, cough drops, and dissolvable candy on school grounds, how will they know that the gum or lozenge contains nicotine? As we all know, as long as an e-cig is kept out of sight and exhaled vapor is kept to a minimum, it can be used undetectably in places like the rest room.

2. They mentioned students in the story. Are they prohibiting school employees from quitting smoking using NRTs?

I assume everyone is included in the ban
Otherwise, wouldn't that be discrimination or at the very least
setting a poor role model example for the children?
:p

Same thing happened here in Knoxville- but to and from school is too much (and that's not in our rules) but ...I'm "supposed" to go off campus to vape- I can't even in my car at the edge of the parking lot. This is for kids, staff, even parents that are visiting the school. We have a "tobacco free campus," mind you...
