Here is what I want to say to Health Canada- from a former smoker, and one that has converted two people to e-cigs

just venting; on how I am preparing to bury another family member due to smoking- tobacco. I wish he know of E CIGS: it could have spared his life. I do not want government interferece: in a product we all enjoy so much; so after speaking to another forum member; I want them to stay out of lives, for as long as possible. Sometimes you need a good smack; to understand what regulations would really mean for all of us. So to KingCobra: thanks because I did not see this view until you stated it below.

Here's what I want to say to Health Canada: Thank you very much for standing down here and not interfering. That's basically what they are doing. We couldn't hope for better really. What you you want, regulation? There are some very big issues at play here. The dog wants to sleep. By all means let him.

These are the people after all that tell you that giving fluoride to infants is perfectly fine, when even the FDA who are also puppets of industry advise against it. If HC says it's OK then I would worry.

For them to approve it would involve their approving it cold, not as a harm reduction strategy. So look at all of the requirements that would involve, years of field trials, and then licensing a select few big companies to sell it with nicotine in it, at a ridiculous price including being heavily taxed, with who knows what additives in it, can you say Nicorette inhaler?

It would have to be then sold as a cessation device, as the government would never stand on the side of recreational drug use which we practice now. Maybe you'd even need a prescription to vape. Certainly the price would be so high that you couldn't afford to anyway.

Or, we could just keep ordering it online. Not a tough decision here.

Calm down and put the gun away before someone really gets hurt.

Maybe I am just so angry, now that I have to bury another family member; do to smoking tobacco. I think its anger more then anything that is fueling how I feel after hearing the amount of weeks he has left. I agree 100% that we do not need interference, and IF they get involved we will be left exactly with sales tax galore, and god knows what else.- I am just so angry; but you're 100% right on this. I do not want any of interference which would result in a product we can no longer afford, and no longer enjoy on our terms. I need someone to tell me so; thanks just for listening..... Maybe I will delete my thread- I just needed to vent.

I understand and sorry about your loss. The bigger issue here is that HC is not out for our welfare, they are corrupt and just look to promote industry really, particularly the medical industry. What people need to realize is that the system overall, which they are a cog in, is designed to have us get sick and keep us sick so they can profit from it. We are even being sprayed now by the government with toxins which even include biological weapons now which has been proven but they have been able to keep out of the mainstream media and therefore the public eye so far. So causing sickness is actually a national priority and it's because big money wants it that way. So these aren't the people to look for in order to get help, they are the enemy in fact.

If the government wanted to do more to stop us they definitely could. If you remember early in 2011 they were sending threatening letters to Canadian vendors, and things started going underground, and Canadian vapers were starting to panic a bit. Then they just stopped and since then the online business here has grown a lot. So that's a good thing, maybe their conscience is starting to kick in and they are feeling guilty a bit about harassing people who are essentially saving lives, instead of their going all out to promote big tobacco at the expense of our health.

So that's about the best we can hope for really. Anything else is going to worsen things. So in other words, officially they are against it but unofficially they tolerate it, and we can go ahead and order and vape all we like, and also turn others on to it who may not want to order from outside the country but have no problem ordering from Canadian vendors.

I totally agree, 100% with you. I know; this product saves lives, I know that; because we know whats in it; and whats not in it is 4,000 deadly lethal burning chemicals.- nicotine should not be a death sentence.

I love every puff; and as a former smoker; like the rest of us; I know the question is not are they safe; its how safer are they? we know all this already, and most people agree with us; on what we know already. I have had no trouble; at all getting the nicotine e liquid I want, or any of the products I want in Canada.- I think they stopped what I call harassment; because they know how big we are getting. There are thousands and thousands of us who are vapping every day; and I the suppliers i have used- all in Canada, and all local; have been beyond fantastic to deal with.

I am "nervious" on the recent purchase of Blu by Lorrilord; I feel while they have the long term relationship with the FDA; and have the retail structure in place; and can devote the dollars to funding, and science; I am still not able to trust the industry; meaning the tobacco industry. -They destroyed the trust of its own consumers, and ruined the lives of hundreds of thousands. I am not sure they can be trusted, here is what I know so far on my E CIG

I have a solid, reliable, structure for my liquids, and supplies. I know the reputation on the e liquids and parts is top notch, and we all enjoy what we do. I admit of course like all of us, its highly addictive, but its for adults.- what we have now, works well, extremely well. I do not want a manufacture like the tobacco industry touching what we have.- and so back to my rant before- you're dead on, regulation will cause more issues; then it will solve. I am so glad you talked some sense into me.
