Yesterday there was a DOA SmokTech dual coil in my pack. I tried a suggestion to push the post down. Didn't work. So I opened another one and used it instead. My eGo T battery ran low (flashing light etc) so I removed the dual coil and and put the battery in for a charge. I put the same dual coil on a charged battery and the SmokTech was dead. Nothing. I thought what the heck is going on! First a DOA and now this?

I let it sit for a good 5 hrs and thought I'd try it again. I put it on a freshly charged battery and now it works! What could cause this? Did I just end up with a bad package of dual coils?

Dual coil cartos will run on any mAh of battery. Although it is not recommended to use them on any battery 480mAh or lower(they will still work but puts too much stress on the smaller batteries or so "they" say).
A larger mAh battery is simply just more time in-between charges, has no effect on the Atty or carto being used. Voltage of the battery and resistance of the Atty/carto is where things change, mAh is just the run time of battery life before needing charging.
Your problem was likely as described above, poor contact between the battery centre post and carto centre post, adjusting one or the other should resolve the problem.

If it's not the post, it could be the protection circuit. What kind of Ego is it? Is it a knockoff? If you use LR atties, it might not fire because the battery thinks there's a short.

On my Ego LCD, my LR atties don't work... but one battery will let them fire for a short while. The other doesn't at all. The circuit and ohm ratings for atties seems inconsistent a little.

eGo T, not a knock off, with the smokTech dual coil. Either way it is driving me insane. Works on the black eGo T's no problem. Will NOT work on the blue eGo T's at all.

definatly a contact issue from my personal experience.
I would always push the center post in on the atty's. noticed it when switching from my precise to my ego. scared the hell out of me the first time it happened.

AND i call shinanigans on the LR on a small ego myth.
i've only used Cisco 1.5ohm attys on my 650mah ego-T batteries, and still vaing strong after 6 months.
Results with imitation Joye products may vary :p
