Here's one for you clapton enthusiasts out there - The Ribbon Clapton

Just came up with this idea and had to share it. Ever wanted a flattened clapton? More surface area baby. Well I don't know if you've ever tried hammering out a round clapton coil, but it never comes out pretty. Anyways, I'm using 22g Kanthal that came pre-flattened from Cloud Chasers Inc and claptoning it with 28g Nichrome80 from Lightning Vapes. Enjoy

nice, its surprising what you can come up with to get over a problem, ive been on the same mission as you with regards to the spooled wire holder, ive been using one of those free hand or third hand stands that have mag glass and croc clips both ends, i unscrewed the croc clip from one end so i can slide three spools of wire onto the cross bar then reconnect the cropclip to keep them on. i gave up on using a tool to hold the clapton wire like you did in your vid, i kept over lapping so went back to finger and thumb

heres a helix i did earlier, the bigger wire inside is 32g on 26g and then two strands twisted together and the other wire to fill the gaps is 38g yes 38g wrapped over 32g

Not exactly sure what you're talking about there..got any pics or links? And wow 38 over 32 that is quite impressive sir! I'm eventually going to attempt a 32 over 28 Ni200 Clapton for my dad's flask.
