I'm fairly new, tried a few things and figured a few things out, and want to pass on my experience to other newcomers in the hopes of helping.
I am now using mini-protank 2 and protank 2 with a vision spinner 1100 battery and would recommend it if you are looking for a place to go
First batteries: It really pays to have a strong battery because at first I was using the protank2 with a small ego batteries and it was a little hit and miss, I kept on cleaning and replacing coils thinking they were the issue- they were not, I couldn't believe the difference with a bigger battery. Same protank 2 with the same coil that was several days old was barely working, when I just switched the battery with my new vision battery I was finally puffing consistently like a dragon. Lesson 2: get a bigger battery because power (voltage) is just important to gaping. Lesson 2: having the ability to control voltage is a nice feature. If you take a hit and it's gurgling in the tank just turn the voltage up, if you take a hit and it's tight or too hot turn the voltage down. You can "dial it in" to perfection very quickly
Now the tanks: I strongly prefer the pro tank/bottom coil approach compared to the top coil cartomizer approach. It seems a lot less "finicky" than top coil cartomizers and you can still get all the throat hit you want (which is the one aspect some say is better with a top coil). Get the miniprotank2 instead of the protank2 if you are unsure as they will work just as well (perhaps better) and they look more elegant. I have 3 of them, so I'll be able to put different flavored juices in each without mixing them up. I'm still glad I have a protank2 since it holds a ton of juice and that's nice for relaxing at home in the evening. Lesson: Protank makes very good quality products. (Note: I have read some mixed reviews elsewhere on the protank3 so I am not going to try that)
so in short, I recommend mini pro tank and a vision spinner which should cost you around 30-35 bucks. Then get at least an extra pack of atomizers, or "heads" as they are called which should cost you 5-6 bucks for a pack of 5. they come in different ohms, 1.5, 1.8, 2.2, 2.4 go for the middle road if you are not sure, I think the ability to control the voltage on the spinner battery will get you where you want to be anyway.
Now the juice: Heather's heavenly vape has something called "Heavenly Vape" that is really yummy for daytime. I also like their mocha java for morning. the oompa is pretty good too for the evenings. I am also looking forward to trying some stuff from Mom and Pop next.
Good luck and happy vaping to everyone, no matter what you are using!
