OMG, this man has no shame nor ethics. He feels entitled to just make up whatever regardless of facts or evidence. Because smoking and vaping are the same, right?

Smoking or Vaping May Increase the Risk of a Severe Coronavirus Infection

“I think that a sensible thing to do for people is to stop smoking and stop vaping—and avoid secondhand exposure,” says Stanton Glantz, director of the Center for tobacco Control Research and Education at the University of California, San Francisco. “We don’t have every little detail on this nailed down,” he says. “But based on what we know, generally, about smoking and e-cigarettes—and in particular about smoking and COVID-19 from people who are already sick, from one study in China—it stands to reason that you would lower your risk if you stopped doing these things.” After all, Glantz adds, “what’s the downside?”

I like Scientific American; saddened to see them publishing junk science based on speculation by a discredited researcher and zealot.

The words such as "assume", "think", "probably", etc., prove it's nothing but speculation. And presenting Stanton Glantz as an "expert," rather than a proven agenda-pushing fraud, is proof of scientific corruption at so-called Scientific American.
It is NOT speculation. Rather, it is anti-scientific baloney.

Interesting!I caught a bad flu 3 years ago and recovered one week earlier then all my friends that also caught it and smoked.
The first vaping death was around August.I wonder how many were connected to the Coronavirus.A lot of people in the USA are reporting that they came down with Coronavirus symptoms back in November.
2005-2006 Me and my work crew caught the worse flu ever experienced, and they were the same symptoms as the Coroanavirus. One of my workers who was in his 70's said this is not the flu,but some wicked bad germ.

My wife, my son in law, my grand kids and my daughter all came down with flu symptoms that hurt when they breathed back in late December...My son in law literally cried of the pain he was feeling. My wife coughed all day and night and complained of pain when breathing for almost two weeks. She went to work like that. I demanded for her to go to the doctor and quess what he told her. "You have an upper respiratory infection". They gave her steroids and aniboitics for a week, and she recovered a week later...

agree here, we all have doubts when see one more study about THR. and every time i think about such things like "there is low data", "not enough time" and "the studies can hardly be named impersonal and objective as financed by smb"
