Hey there! Haven't had an actual cigarette in a little over a month and still trying to get the hang of everything in the vape world. A lot to process!

Currently using an Ego T, with a couple different clearos. CE4, Wickless CE5, and a Kanger T2 (My favorite) along with the Halo Sub Zero, and just ordered a batch of Thug juice from Mt Baker since I've read so many good reviews about it.

Was wondering, what do you guys think is the best/most effective clearo for throat hits and vape?

Also, any tips? I figured out how to clean/dry burn my Ce4s but no idea with the Kanger t2/ce5.

Welcome to ECF. Tons of good info here. I use an ego twist and a regular ego battery. I have a Kanger Protank2 and the mini 2 (both are pyrex tanks). Love them both. Evods are pretty good, as well. I prefer the bottom coil. They're so simple to work with and maintain. I get better TH with the protanks than I ever did with top coil clearos, or with the evod. You'll find so much good information here and so many great people!

Congrats on quitting smoking!

kanger protank 2 or aspire bdc glassomizer (its roughly about the same size of the ce4 but its glass so no cracking only downside is you have to use aspire coils but none the less it gives great flavour and throat hit) once you try some of the glass tanks like those you will notice the muted flavour a generic ce4 gives you by the way the wickless ce5s mute flavour like crazy you get have as much as a ce4

It all comes down to what resistance and voltage you have in your setup to determine throat hit and vapor production etc.
So if you take your voltage and square it and then divide by your coil resistance you get power in watts.
You should be between 4-8 watts. Less watts= less vapor, less throat hit, less liquid consumed, cooler vapor, but more flavor.
Higher watts= more vapor production, more throat hit, more liquid consumed, warmer vapor and sometimes the flavor may be diminished a bit due to the higher output on coil.

For the past month I've been using my ego-c batteries (3.7v) and v-nano clearos which are about 1.8 ohms. So I get like 7.6 watts, which is good but I run into issues with flavor at times in terms of it being off or too warm for my taste. I've been using a vision stardust clearo (basically same as the ce4) with 2.4 ohm coil and I'm liking that much more as I'm getting a smooth consistent flavor that is just right in the temperature and I havent ever had any issues with it tasting burnt (obviously the v-nano and stardust are different as the nano is filler material for the wick instead of an actual wick so that may be my issue too). I tend to find a more bold flavor liquid will give you a bigger throat hit too, so example a subtle cherry flavor is more minimal in the throat his as opposed to something more bold like a chocolate mint flavor (i actually get the strongest throat hit from my "red bull" flavor, but its a higher mg of nic that i'd like to have)

Thanks guys! Protank seems to be a pretty popular one so I might check that one out! So much still to learn, even just recently got my dad into vaping.

I love how there's more control you have over what you smoke, etc. Not to mention the health benefits. I haven't noticed much money costs, is this normal in the beginning between trying out different liquids and parts that I like best?

Sorry for all the questions. :D

I have no idea what the voltage is on my Twist, I'm using a standard 900 rmah battery though. Is there a preferred Ohm to use? Or can I use any like 2.2/2.4?

Hi Damon. I'm new to this forum but I have been vaping a couple of years and started with a Joye 510 and then moved to a mechanical mod and just recently I stepped up to the VV/VW mod the SMoktech SID and I am in love with it lol. They say when you first start vaping it is expensive and then after you get your set-ups it's cheaper because you just need juice and atomizers or cartomizers but there is so much out there you can go a little crazy. Each time I buy something I like it better like going from atomizer to cartomizer then to a CE5(which tastes burnt so I don't recommend them) now I am using a Aro Pyrex tank which gives amazing flavor but I'm not getting enough of a throat hit so I evidently don't have the right wattage dialed in or I don't have the right ohm atomizer head or I don't have the correct PG/VG ratio juice. Anyway I didn't mean to ramble on...

I was just letting you know Vaping is like a hobby but a life saving one, so that makes it awesome. The people on here are nice and very helpful if you have questions. I am so glad I found this forum because it is a wealth of information. Every day I look on here I learn something new. Congrats on giving up the analogs and good luck to you.

Thank you, Cindy. It seems like an awesome and friendly place here to share thoughts/ideas/help each other out. I like my Kanger t2 with the sub zero as I get a good throat hit and vape but looking around at all the types of cartomizers/clearomizers/tanks/etc is pretty mind blowing that's all out there and just want to get the most bang for my buck. I'm not a big cartomizer fan, I instantly fell in love with clearos so at least there's that.

I'm not big into all the different flavors, been reading how a lot of them can damage your clearos, and don't want to just waste money buying all kinds of liquids so I have two I'm going to stick with. Halo Sub Zero (Awesome btw) and Thug juice, which hopefully works out.

Going to stick my t2 with my Halo juice, and looking it seems that the t3 is pretty good as well. Not sure about the tanks, as people say they tend to have technical issues with them.

I mean, I consider the money saving an added bonus as the main thing is my health. A month in and I feel 100x better than I ever did with smoking!
