I'm Catie, new to the vaping world. I decided to try vaping to save myself $20 a pop for each visit to the hookah bar. lol. (I probably could have bought myself my own hookah, but my hubby would prefer e-cigs over hookah)

I've purchased a blu starter kit, but I'm already looking for an upgrade. (thinking of a 510 or a KR808) I'm one of those people that jump in with two feet.

See you around. :D

Welcome Catie! Before you run and purchase something else, take a look at Ego/Riva/Hello with 510 Cartomizers! Go to the Suppliers Sites, listed on the main forum page, and read around a bit more. Of course, wait till you have tried the Blue to be sure vaping is going to work for you. Good Luck.

I have never tried cartomizers on my Ego but, I love the batt life on the Ego. I will have to try a carto soon, I here they are less hassle. My girlfriend has a 510 and, I would not last on them because the batts don't last long enough for me. Good luck Catie!

Most people get Blu before they realize they can get comparable or better for a better price because they aren't paying for the Blu advertising dollars. Like I said I like mine, but I like my 510 better and my eGo even better than that. If you haven't purchased it yet I wouldn't. I would get a 510 kit. You will get it faster, you will like the carts better, and the battery life is way better. jm2c

Try'd to PM you but you have that shut off. I was very confused at first too without "brand" names only model numbers, but after a lot of research realized that Joye was the recommended brand. Although others seem to work just as well. Since money IS an issue I would for sure not go Blu. I would check out cignot.

There are a lot of vendors who sell 510s. Among those in the suppliers forum are: Cignot, Cigeasy, MadVapes, and Nhaler. These are all good, reliable suppliers as far as I know. They are not the only vendors for the 510, as it is one of the most popular ecigs. Be aware that the one drawback of the 510 is it's short battery life on the standard model. For this reason, most users of the 510 std model like to get a pcc (personal charging case) to go with it for charging on the go. There is also a 510 xl (or mega) battery that has nearly double the battery life, but at the cost of being a little longer in size. And many, many users like the eGo, Riva, Hello 016 or similar larger battery model. While not huge by any means, these are a little bigger in diameter. But they have four times the battery life between recharges. VaporJunction sells the Riva at a very reasonable price for the kit. The eGo tends to be a little more expensive, but is also an excellent model. The Hello 016 has the longest battery life of any similar model, but is also slightly bigger than any similar model.
You will want to experiment a little. Many like cartomizers for their convenience. Others prefer cart/atty combination. Others like dripping. Each is a bit different and has it's own strengths and weaknesses.

KR808s are good too, are primarily a cartomizer model, but it is possible to use a 901 atomizer on a KR808D-1 battery.

Welcome Catie.
Enjoy the journey.

I started with the 510, but ordered an Ego almost immediately because of the 510's short battery life.

However, one thing you should know about the 510 and Ego (aka Riva/Tornado) is that all the pieces are interchangable between the two - except for the batteries and chargers. (You can use the 510 battery with the Ego attys/carts - You just can't charge one battery in the other's charger). So if you get or already have a 510, then switch to the Ego, your 510 atomisers and cartridges will all work with the Ego and vice-versa.

The main attraction of the 510 to most people is that it's smaller and slimmer, and has an LED on the tip which lights up - in other words, it's more like a cigarette. But that comes at a cost - very short battery life (2-3 hours). At first, I was trying to replicate the smoking experience as closely as possible, but I soon realised that the Ego's bigger size isn't an issue. And I got over the lack of a stupid LED glow even more quickly. LOL

I want ease and convenience and long battery life. Out of all of the above, which would you buy if you were me?

The standard eGo kit would be the best for convenience & battery life. With the regular eGo battery, it's not too heavy. Once you get adjusted to using it you can then upgrade all of the parts at your convenience.

I would go for the eGo - as, besides being a better vape [in my opinion] and far less frustrating with the long battery life, I also believe that the eGo is cheaper despite the initial cost being a bit more - for the simple reason that the batteries cost approx double the price of the 510 batts, but because they will last so much longer, thus need recharging much less - it stands to reason that they will last 4 [or more] times longer than the 510 batts before they need replacing - making the eGo the more economical option.

if you want ease and convenience then go to Vapor 4 Life, and get the manual V4L LX battery, get at least 2 or three of them, and get the cool carts, empty, which is a cartomizer, don't forget to get the charger and some juice, I do not like their juice I prefer American made juice but you might like the juice so try it, they are simple to use battery life is pretty good and I think you will like them
