So I've pretty much decided on buying a Volt - Standard Starter Kit.

The kit comes with 2x batteries, 5x filter tips, and a charger,

so my questions are; does the filter tip include the atomizer?

and I've heard that filters take on the flavors of the liquid,

so should I buy blank filters if I plan on "dripping" (teehee)?

My last question is; where do you think I can find the best chocolate flavored e-liquid at?

The filter cartos are either prefilled or you should be able to but empty ones and fill them yourself. The atomizer is built in. Dripping with a Volt? I don't think that'll work. I could be wrong, if I am, I'm sure someone here will correct me. But I don't think the volt batteries are sealed, right? So, any liquid that gets in the battery will kill it. And if you drip, yes, some liquid will get in there severely shortening the life of your battery. Safest way is to use prefilled or empty cartridges. If you want to drip, I wouldn't try that on a Volt. I'd get a KGO, or even a VV device such as a Lavatube or Provari.

The "filter tips" are cartomizers. They are one piece that includes the atomizer and a polyester filler material that hold the juice.

The cartomizer absorbs the juice. You don't mix flavors in a cartomizer. They are disposable, but they can be refilled if you have the same flavor of juice.

YOu should buy blank cartomizers if you plan on filling your own with juice you get somewhere else or in a bottle at Smokeless Image. It is cheaper to buy juice in bottles and fill your own cartomizers.

If you want to try dripping, you need an atomizer. An atomizer doesn't hold any juice. You drip juice straight into it. You need a "drip tip" which is a mouthpiece you can drip juice through, onto the coil in the atomizer. The atomizer is a single small tube that contains the heating coil, but no provision for getting juice to the coil. That's why you have to drip it in a few drops at a time.

If you want to drip, you need a sealed battery. That means you must buy a manual battery. They are better anyway. You can buy a separate atomizer, but you will probably need a 808/510 adapter. Then you can use a 510 atomizer on an 808 battery.

There are a million e-juice makers. Take a look at the vendor section. They all make a chocolate flavor, but I don't have any particular recommendations.

Dripping is where you drip juice straight into the opening of an atomizer. An atomizer needs some type of juice delivery device. With dripping, YOU are the juice delivery device. It's the cleanest taste, but it's not that convenient. You drip a few drops into the atomizer, directly onto the coil, take 5 or 6 puffs until the vapor gets weak or thin or burnt tasting, then you do it again. You use a "drip tip" mouthpiece and drip straight through it. If you drip in too much, you will flood the atomizer and the juice can hurt your battery if the connection is not sealed. That's why you need a manual battery with a button. Automatic batteries are not sealed.

Honestly, I don't know what I'm talking about, so correct me on what "dripping" is please.

LOL! No worries, it's a learning process. Dripping refers to connecting an atomizer (not the "filter" cartridges) to the battery and dripping liquid directly in there, 3-4 drops at a time. Easiest way to switch flavors frequently but not my favorite thing to do, too much work. I like tanks on a variable voltage mod such as a Provari or Lavatube,
Atomizers don't hold more than a few drops of juice, you vape that, drip some more, vape again..... Too tedious for my but lots of people love it.

As far as Chocolate juice, I haven't found a good one yet. But what IS good is Pchela's Famous Five Layer from Mom and Pop Vapor shop. It's chocolate, caramel, vanilla, and 2 more flavors I can't figure out mixed together. OMG, it is SO Yummy, I went through 60 mls already and ordered 2 more 60 ml bottles..... I vape that daily. :)

Dripping is for when the atomizer is a separate piece and you drip some liquid directly onto it. I think most people do this as a way of testing their juice so they don't ruin a cartomizer with juice that you hate. I've bought the prefilled cartomizers and refilled them with a flavor that was similar and it worked for me. For instance, putting a different menthol into a menthol cartomizer didn't cause me any issues. I haven't found a chocolate flavor that I enjoy, so I might just dislike that flavor, so I can't be of any help there.

I'm more interested in casually smoking something like a cigarette, like a cigarette.

From the sounds of it, I'm not so interested in dripping.

I may be compromising on flavor or hit-ability

but that really isn't any concern to me.

Eventually I may purchase something like an eGo-T, which

seems like it has all of the advantages of a drip system,

without any of the disadvantages, as it states,

"The [eGo-T] and the [new tank system] drips e-liquid directly into the atomizer.

This allows a consumer to drip without the need to add liquid after every couple of puffs."

All Volt batteries are sealed and drip resistant, both manual and auto. They sell both filled and blank cartomizers as well as refill juice. Don't know who's got the best Chocolate but Mom and Pop Vapor has a pretty good one. I've been using Volts since last August as my primary with no problems. The 78mm batteries last a lot longer than most people who have never tried them think.

Nothing against the Volt. I'd choose a Volt over an eGo-T any day. But the auto batt's are not sealed. They're semi-sealed. They're leak-resistant, not leakproof. I wouldn't use them for dripping. An auto battery cannot be leakproof by it's very nature and the fact it depends on suction to operate.

I'm really excited for the prospect of using automatic batteries.

I thought I'd try one of both, but after looking into I'm definitely going for dual automatics : D

Maybe I'll take a pic of myself smoking one and check out a free manual though ;P

There's a thread on their sub forum where you can post a photo of yourself vaping a volt and get a freebee. I think it's something like a bottle of juice or some cartos.

Do yourself a favor and read some more, but not marketing stuff. Read all the appeals for help from noobs who bought an eGo-T. Read what most people do after they've had their eGo-T for a while. They ditch the "T" part and stick clearomizers or cartomizers on them. The eGo-T is nothing like dripping. It's finicky, leaky and usually tastes like burnt plastic.

Stick with the Volt. It's better than an eGo-T and is the best cig-like PV on the market. Get automatic batteries if you must. By the time they wear out, you'll be looking for manual batteries. There is a good reason why no high-end e-cig uses an automatic battery. No big battery APV uses an automatic battery. Even eGos don't use automatic batteries. Can you think of why that might be?
