hey guys, im shawn phase, of temp sound solutions. thats a band that i've done for over 15 years now, its video game cover music, original 8bit style stuff (chiptune, for those in the know), mathrock, ambient, basically all different styles. you can check out the tss bandcamp if you want, theres about 40 albums there, and we've done over 250 releases now to date.
i got into ecigs about 3 years ago, and i wasnt all that impressed with the technology, you didnt see tanks and batteries all that very easily in stores or people using em, and thats clearly what i enjoy the most now, a solid 50/50 juice if i can get it is always good. ive been vaping again for a month after quitting regular rolling tobacco (bali shag, or samson) and being on a patch for a month or so, im very happy with it. its really improved my drumming ability, my stamina, my breathing, of course my health overall. such a great feeling of course compared to even shag tobacco.
as far as my rig that i use, i like to keep it very simple, but flavorful. because of that, i've got an idea for a great setup for any other new heads up in the e-cig game to get you started who are looking to spend under $80-100 that ive been really happy with after trying some stuff out that friends have had. first off, i think most of us can agree that a good tank is crucial and can make or break the experience. i started out with iclear 16's, and they're not bad. but you cant really hit them more than 3 times without them heating up too much. everybody hits them differently and who knows how much the plastic heats up. so i think they're good for what they are, but we all deserve to use the best we can. because of that, i use the kangertech mini protank 2's, they're ideal for the way i use them. i looked around and picked up 4 for $14 each, and i couldnt be happier. these run great @ 1.8-2.2 ohms. i take those silicone washers off the inside of the wick because i dont see how its even necessary beyond holding down the wick, and you're screwing it in anyways. seems like if you can get a rig with no plastic or silicon anywhere, you're rewarded with some heavy flavor as well as great vapor production, even with 50/50 blends on a kanger.
my battery setup is very simple, i use a 350ma avail ego-c style mini battery as my backup, a 650ma ego-c, and im going to get a third 350ma mini battery, i guess probably a joyetech is what i should get and just use the two 350ma's as mains. i think the kangertechs look great on a small battery and they can easily fit in your pocket with no issues or spillage. between three batteries, 3 or 4 kangers and a charger, you're basically at $80, and you're pretty much guaranteed to get huge billowy hits off that setup. the tanks of course take a little patience, but once you have em setup, you're in flavor country with any juice.
speaking of, my preference is uncle junks honey do, and im sure a lot of you guys have tried it and dug it, but right now im using hangsen 24mg honeydew and its ok. i sometimes will mix a little bit of avail moon glow, or use that in its own tank. other flavors i like are the avail green fairy, any 555 blends, any sugar cube or vanilla flavors, but really, i'll try whatever is around. im not picky with the flavor as long as it tastes good and has a lot of mg content!
well, theres my first post. i'll read some more of the forums and see what kind of stuff you guys are running, but i put a lot of money into my music, and dont get a ton back out of it. so i have to be pretty sure of what i use for this. im lookin forward to what i'll save from spending on cigs and having more in 2014, maybe i'll even get around to making some more tunes.
