Hey, who put pepper in my juice!?

OK, I shoulda known better and stuck with the respected and known US vendors, but curiosity got the better of me and I ordered ejuice from Hong Kong. Hangsen and Dekang, The Dekang has the YNDK embossing on the cap, so I think it's genuine.

Well, all the Hangsen and one of the Dekang have a very peppery taste. Unvapable for me as they are.

If I put them away in a dark place for a month, will the peppery taste get better or worse?

You could try doing that. I've noticed some nic has a peppery taste to it though. I'd say let it steep and check it in a few weeks to a month.

It could be the nic based they used, as some seem to have a more 'peppery' type taste to them.

Steeping can't hurt, but if it is the base, it may never change.

I have never used Hangsen, but I have only vaped Dekang. I think they are very reputable and they are always consistant to me. I have not bought directly from China. I have bought Dekang from Valley Vapor and then I found eliquid Market because the price was a lot lower. However, the only one that ever tasted peppery was the Red USA Mix. Their Wensten is great my Daily Vape and I love their Cheesecake to mix with Strawberry and Mango. All of them have been great. I have also smoked their USA Mix which was always good. I hope you didn't get a counterfeit Dekang. I've heard of that happening. Anyway, I hope they get better for you. Happy vaping!!!

The Dekang that tastes peppery is Black Current (low nic). The Hangsen are Blueberry (12mg), Juicy Peach (6mg), and Lemon (12mg).

The Dekang that seem OK are Green Tea, Orange and Hazelnut.

I don't like pepper in my food, so I may be over sensitive to the taste.

There are big differences in the taste of nicotine base. It all depends on who is producing it. This includes China where there are many nicotine manufacturers and factories and a huge variance in quality. I use nicotine base from Xtreme Vaping for DIY. This is a Chinese nicotine but the base liquid is clear and colorless with next to no peppery taste. I believe Xtreme Vaping supplies some juice makers with their nicotine base in addition to general sales.

I got that once but I'm pretty sure it was cuz my atty was gunked up...threw it out and it hasn't happened since....I only buy domestic base and flavors from FA in italy tho so idk what the deal is...but if it's ur juice then steeping will most likely make it worse as it serves to brings out flavors...

Hmm, I am not certain. I am using two 306-style dripping atomizers. I will wash them out again (hot water rinse followed by Vodka soak) and test with a juice I know to be good.

Peppery taste is from nicotine. Steeping helps, since it will evenly distribute the nic into the volume of your juice. If its still there, go lower nic, or switch to US made nic base.

Please disregard anything I said about specific flavors. The bad pepper flavor was picked up by the atomizer and stuck. I was dripping one flavor after another without cleaning it out thoroughly. I'm going to try the juices again later.
