Im new here and hope to meet others who have exciting stories about quitting smoking and good people to trade and talk with. 09/01/15 was day I finally put down cigarettes and started vaping!! Thanks :) I have the Nautilus mini.. It was a gift and I do like it but looking to upgrade and it will be my first time actually purchase. Im more interested in the flavor than clouds I think at this point... My 2 yr old thinks the clouds are "smoke fire" lol so flavor is where its at. There are so many options online it is alittle overwhelming! Thanks for your help!

Hi!

Well done to you.

I vaped some 1.5mg Dekang (new range) last week..... very tasty but not that satisfying... I had to gulp down some 12mg soon after.

There are lots of great mods out there. Just avoid the total scum brands that pretend a $17 mod is $199.99, because they do exist. Shop independent and ask about prices before you buy.

Did you know, for example, that some Sigelei mods are now more expensive from Fasttech than bought on the domestic market. That's a scary prospect, when the Chinese are charging more than your local vape shop.

Welcome to the forum Rainey! First decide your budget. Then expect to spend half again that. If you are looking for that sweet spot you will definitely want to use a voltage/amperage regulated device. You also will want to consider if you want a stick or a box device. That is more a matter of how good it is going to feel in your hand. Almost everything about vaping is a matter of personal taste. Make sure to select based on your taste, and you should be happy for about 6 months. Before pulling the trigger on your purchase, put it up on the forum to see if it is a good price. There are a bunch of compulsive window shoppers on this forum that can help you find the best deal.

Everyone will have their own opinions, but I personally think that the Subox Mini is a great device because it is reasonably priced and so flexible. It was the second device I purchased, and I started with the 1.5 ohm coils, then tried the .5, then the RBA, and now I have a RDA sitting on it. I've been quite happy with it.

There are tons of options out there and it can be overwhelming. I've been wanting an upgrade myself and I'm like a kid in a candy shop that can't make his mind up! I agree with @BreilaRose. The Subox mini is a good mood for the price and versatility.
Welcome to the forum and congrats on dumping the cigs!

for what it is worth, would second the recommendation for the Kanger Subtank mini that comes with the subox, though for a mod, you may want to check out the Innokin Disrupter - very user friendly, lipo battery pack (does not require external batteries) is usb rechargeable (with the subox, you really would want to get an external charger for the battery... you can use the usb in a pinch, but not preferred...)... exceptionally well built - i have both the subox and the disrupter and love em - my one complaint with the subox is the fixed center pin - can be a little wonky sometimes depending on what you are using on it...

kanger subtank mini is an excellent little tank - very versatile, lots of options, including the rba (rebuildable) deck that comes with it - another tank i would wholeheartedly recommend looking at is the isub apex - can't go wrong with either (apex is also a top fill tank - little easier to re-juice)

There's a good reason for the low prices at Fasttech. They are #3 on Aspire's list of those selling fake products. I can't speak of the ' 'Sigelei' ' products products they carry. Be very careful, those selling product at more than a 15% discount of the manufacturer's price are probably selling fakes.

I personally like Aspire's original Triton with a 1.8Ω coil. It delivers good flavour. There will probably be those who'll scream 'NO! don't go there!' Some folks have reported that they leak like sieves. I have six of them. Two came directly from Aspire, four 'leaky' tanks were acquired locally. The most I paid for the 'leaky' tanks was $5.00, and two were free. Three of them worked perfectly (no leaks) after a cleaning and replacement of the coil. The last needed a new seal at the top of the chimney. An alternate, if you don't want to go there, is Aspire's Atlantis. Get the 510 drip tip adapter, and a drip tip with this tank for mouth to lung vaping. These tanks can use all of Aspire's coils for the Atlantis or Triton series. The new 0.5Ω Clapton coil is very good. You'll want to use this coil when your 2yr old is abed because it produces lots of "smoke fire."

For a MOD, I'd recommend any of the single 18650, or built-in battery name brands, that are TC capable and can go up to at least 70 watts. Over 70 watts you'll want a twin 18650 MOD. The MOD should be adjustable in 0.1 watt and 5° increments, depending on the mode. Go to a local shop, and check the controls of the mod before you buy it. I don't like my Sigelei 150W because the power changes too quickly. It's hard to get a certain power level. I don't like Aspire's Pegasus, as the power is only adjustable in one watt increments. The original Pegasus with it's automatic coil detection is one MOD you should stay as far away from as you can. The new Smok X-Cube mini is worth a look, but only if you have an iphone 4s or newer. The Smok BEC app for Android would not communicate with my X-Cube 2.

The best advise i can give you is to wait for reviews to come out, and check the forums for any problems, before buying ANY equipment new to the market.

What I can confirm though is that Fasttech carry plenty of Authentic items. Anything labelled 'Authentic Aspire' is genuine. Of course Fasttech sell some fakes (clones/styled).. and it suits Aspire to tar all their (Fasttech's) product lines with that same brush.

Welcome and Congratulations!

I recently picked back up on vaping too. I have vaped on and off since about 2010. I quite in 2013 cause I didn't think the e-cigs were quite there yet. Boy did I get a surprise this time around.
There is so much good equipment on the market it's not funny. I went to my usual online store and was just overwhelmed. I remembered seeing an Innokin I liked about a year earlier, so I looked at that line. My previous brand was always Joyetech.
I saw a review for a device that did everything I wanted and had loads of safety features.
It was the Innokin Disruptor and iSub tank. I've gotten quite a few more mods. I'm still happy I started with it.
Easy to use, very reasonable pricing, and it just works! It's still my go to on many occasions. Especially when I want something simple and easy. Plus it's handled any atty I've put on it. I really have learned alot with it.
If you go with something that requires 18650 batteries, you should do some research on safety, and ohms law.
It really is important to know some basics with them.
Whatever you choose, good luck and happy vaping!

That's good to know. Many sites with 'Authentic' or 'Genuine' in their product descriptions are selling clones. Until you know you are dealing with an ethical retailer I strongly suggest:

When buying local, check the security code before leaving the store using your smartphone. If you can't check in the store, make a small purchase, coils for example. Check the code as soon as you get home. This will establish the store's integrity at a low cost if they refuse to refund your money.

On-line purchases should be made directly from the manufacturer, or one of the legitimate sources vouched for by members of this forum. Once again make a small purchase first, and check the item's authenticity immediately.

Use Paypal, or a credit card to make your purchase. Paypal and most credit card companies offer some consumer protection. There are too many clones out there to take a chance with your hard earned cash.
