Ok First I will say, I understand that a cartos life span can varie.

So I pulled out a new carto to test my new HHV liquid with 2 days later the ohms drop from 3.0 to 2.2. Is this a coincidence?
I honestly havent had the best of luck with these Cartos, They are volcano cartos which I was told were smoktechs that have been rebranded (can anyone confirm that?)

I havent had this issue when using Volcano liquids, so I was wondering what carto do you use and had good success with? I have been using HR cartos (3.0) because I have found that I get burnt tastes when using LR cartos, that could be different though with HHV cause I have foudn that I can vape these at higher voltage without getting burnt tastes (to be honest though those were BCC/EVOD type tanks which I have foudn that I don't like at all)

Also for the record I take slow, long drags 6 - 12 seconds. Any suggestions on what cartos to use with my tank would be welcomed!
Oh, and if you think I should go LR, or even dual coil, please let me know ;) I will try any thing at least 3 times.

Thanks in Advance!

I have one volcano tank and carto (and I have heard they were smoktech rebranded as well), I have to say I really like the grooving where the flange fits in. Anyway.. my vaping style is nothing like yours.. 3-5 sec tops at the lowest setting I can go. It is my Cinful Pear tank and it works flawlessly.

That probably did not help you one little bit :)

Thanks Bronze! So far Carto tanks have been the best experience for me, best flavor, etc.

What do you use Bronze?

I did cartos early in my vape career and got off them quick. Went to top coil, bottom coil, dripping atties, and RBA's. I kinda mix it up but don't do the dripping atties anymore either. Too much a pain in the .... Besides, the RBA's replicate dripping pretty dang close. Don't be afraid to try different stuff Fran. And don't be afraid to ask questions if you need help. That's what we're here for.

MostlySunny, That actually did help me. I may try shorter drags ;) What voltage do you vape at?

Hey Bronze, Thanks for the advice :) I started with Top coil Clearos then moved on to Bottom coils. I perfered the top over the bottom, but I seem to like Carto tanks the best so far, it just tastes "Cleaner". I have been considering an RBA but Im not quite ready for all that yet.

Do you mean how low is my twist set? 3.2 But all my relatives have the same set up and crank theirs higher. I'm just wimpy. I cough if it's higher than that. I've also sent my relatives lots of HHV and they use it with out any problems. There is a Volcano store/cafe close to their home so mostly they just use the volcano juices.

Here's my :2cent:, Frantic9k. I didn't have much luck with carto tanks, it was always a hit or miss thing with getting one that worked properly. The ones I used to use were from SmokTech, I believe and another off brand I got through Totally Wicked. The ones through TW were the worst! But I hear they've changed and decided to use Boge cartos now, so I may give them another chance. I guess you can count this as another vote for Boge.

I like the flavor I got from them, but it didn't seem cost effective to buy a bunch of them and have half that were DOA. Top coil clearos (ViVi Novas) and BCC (Kanger T3) have a lot better record for fewer DOAs IMO. I also use HH.357 atties for taste testing and and a couple AGA-T2s for playing round with building & rebuilding coils & wicks. I also have a VMOD XL, bottom feeder which has been my "go to" device since I got it! Excellent taste like dripping atties with a huge 9ml tank that'll last for days. Even though it's a mechanical mod with voltage levels varying with the amount of battery charge (4.2v - 3.3v), it still provides ample power using LR atties for my vaping (95% HHV, 5% MBV.)

I've used Boge SR cartos almost exclusively for most of my vaping career. I use them at around 5 volts depending on the juice. I've yet to have one arrive DOA. In fact, I just had my first "problem" with a Boge carto last week. When I checked the ohms, it was 4.1. I just cranked my ProVari up to 6 volts and vaped away.

Fran, the only thing that matters with gear selection is your opinion and that you keep an open mind to trying different things. Looks like that is what you're doing. Yes, I would agree a good next step is an RBA. Consider a Phoenix Bully (or similar) from GotVapes. They are simple, yet effective RBA's. No rush...do it at your leisure. Ask questions if you have them.

MostlySunny (she goes by April) is the Queen of Cool. No one (and I mean no one) vapes cooler than April so she's probably not indicative of what you or most people prefer. But you never know. Try it. I'm a cool vaper too but go ahead and vape at all levels to see what you prefer. Lots of factors involved so test them at varying voltage levels.

Perhaps you and I can bump into each other one day and have a vapefest since we live so close to each other. And if you want an in-state gear supplier (next day shipping), check out Lisa at Carolina Vapes. She's a nice gal so don't be afraid to ask her questions too. She knows her stuff.
