Congratulations on 3 1/2 weeks cigarette free! I'm about where you are. I had my last analog cig on May 30. So 3 1/2 weeks for me too.

I was craving a real cig BAD last weekend. But I just vaped away. And it did pass. I know I don't really want one. When I smell smoke or stale smoke on others it stinks so bad to me that I have to get away from it. But I sure as heck was craving one....

Stay strong! We can beat this!!!

Red Head, keep up the vaping, the memory of a stinker is better than it actually is. We all have bad vape days, I've got six months without a cigarette and spent a small fortune on getting my set up right, but still have them days when nothing seems right. Instead of buying cigarettes order a new atty or something online, stalk the postie for a few days and give yourself a pat on the back when it arrives and enjoy your new toy. You'll have earned it.

Thank You to everyone. I currently have a Mini pro-tank 2,a iclear16-d, and a ce5 single coil top fed. Right now the iclear seems to work best. The Mini pro tank 2 from kanger worked well at first but now I get burnt hits... I have tried the tricks discussed here and for now I am not happy with the Mini pro tank 2. Part of my frustration is the vv v3.0 lets me set watts, but anything above 6.5 tastes wrong. I watch videos and people are setting it 8,9, 10 watts and saying it is great. So i try voltage and anything over 3.7 volts same thing. I am sure I will wind up with yet another tank, but for now the iclear 16d is getting it done at 6.5 watts. Oh yes day 28 I believe no cigarettes.

1: after a few days or about 10ml of eliquid, the coil would need to dryburn.

2: what 'tricks discussed here' did you try.

3: "anything above 6.5 tastes wrong"
That's not surprising.

4: "I watch videos and people are setting it 8,9, 10 watts and saying it is great "
Yes people do that, but not straight out of the box. People often recoil with thicker wire and use cotton wick and don't really emphasize that in the video.

5: "anything over 3.7 volts same thing"
Yes; miniprotank is 14mm diameter, same as standard eGo battery, and intended to run at standard 3.7 volt eGo battery voltage.

5: The iclear 16d uses dual coil atomizer heads; basically dual coil heads burn more watts.

I have tried turning the rubber donut upside down. That cause slight flooding. I have tried removing the top wicks. That made it flood worse.

Dryburn and rewick with cotton.

I usually start out at 5 watts on fresh cotton and depending on how it vapes I might find myself going up to 8 watts over a few days, then back down to 5 then time to dryburn and rewick again.

Depending on how long you've been using that head, you might have some gunk buildup that needs to be cleaned off. You can flat-out replace the head, or you can dry-burn to clean off the gunk, or you can go so far as rebuilding.

http://www.e-cigarette-forum.com/forum/coil-builds/432047-my-bad-pictorial-evod-rewicking-cotton-recoiling.html

You could even take your coil heads and drop them into a little bit of vodka or pure grain alcohol. That helped "freshen" the coil a tiny bit and made it seem like the coils lasted a little longer. Then I discovered dry-burning.... I don't have the link handy that demonstrates dry-burning, but google it. It's super easy....

I generally go a day or two (or maybe even only a tank or two, depending on the juice) before I at least dry-burn to clean off the gunk. It makes the heads last a little longer IMO.

I also rebuild my coils (using 30 gauge - stock heads are 32 or 34g - wire heats up more quickly and could have a tendency to burn juices - especially when gunked)

There is very little nastier than a burnt hit. You can certainly get past all the "hiccups" - keep asking questions, and we'll help as best we can.

I am glad to hear you are off the cigs! I found that a 50/50 VG/PG blend was best for me. Sometimes your tank can make a difference, as some are hard hitting and others are airy. I was a menthol pack a day smoker for 17 years and needed a hard throat hit. My Kanger protank clone does that for me with homemade juice perfectly... Otherwise if I just want to vape I use other hardware... A VV/VW mod may be helpful as you can up it for a warmer hit. I hope this helps, and remember, the hard part is behind you!

To the second part of your post, I did the exact same thing. The first week I quit analogs and started vaping, I was really craving a cig so I went ahead and had one. The taste was bad, but I finished it anyways. Every few days in between I would crave a cig and light it up, and it would just get more and more terrible until I just said screw it, no more real cigs for me.

This is the part I kinda fear right now... lighting up a cig... but I'd have to go out and buy a new pack. I've cleaned all the ash trays and put them away. I don't crave them yet we'll just have to see. I wonder how long it general takes before one is free?

Keep a small extra tank with some high strength eliquid for an occassional vape to keep away the cravings.

The way I (and a lot of people, I assume) see it, is that as long as you're constantly cutting down the number of analogs you smoke, then you're doing good. I almost completely stopped the day I bought my first eGo, but I had a couple cigs that day. Then I had maybe one or two the next couple days until I was just disgusted with the "taste" of analogs even though I never really recognized a taste lol

I dry burn my clearomizer heads every couple of days depending on how 'gunky' my juices are and how much juice I put through the device. Doing this makes them last for weeks. IMO learning how to do this and getting good at it will really help you keep your vape experience good consistently. All clearos and rebuildables need this maintenance done when the vape starts to degrade.

Cartomizers can not be dry burned. You simply replace them when they get gunked, lose flavor and vapor production and start to give you burnt hits. One of my staple juices is quite gunky and I typically consider myself lucky to get a couple of days from a carto using that. Clean juices OTOH can last a couple of weeks.

You have to want to quit. If you really want to be done with smoking, remind yourself of that. The craving will be less intense then. I still get cravings but they are so miner now. They don't get bad anymore as they did the first couple months. Now the cravings are more of a nuisance than anything. I don't get cravings much anymore. It does get better :)

Yes, I agree. I really do want to be done with cigs. I think the wanting to be done combined with vaping has got me this far.
One day at a time right......Or one vape at a time..

I'm a month free of those nasty stinky horrible cigs. I had a tough day yesterday an felt a craving for one So I went to the vape store and bought another nautilus tank and some strawberry milkshake and straight vapes for 30 minutes straight. Lol. I agree. It's all about the want to I can understand the cig here and there to fight the craving. But that's not me. I'm all in. I don't want a cigarette. My body might. But I know I don't. After 20+ years of smoking I am free of that nasty habit

Congratulations Stay strong. Everyone here is here to help and inform And def upgrade your equipment It will help you enjoy your vaping experience as well as get the most out of your juice Stay strong

I quit almost 2 months ago and I know how hard it is, has been - and I'm sure there will be rough days to come. But heck... Keep it up!! You can DO THIS!! You have so much support with all the peeps here on these forums :)
Looking forward to following your progress and being a fellow quitter with you!!
