Hey, been vaping for 3 months now, still doing analogs from time to time.

The forum has help me a lot to get the full picture and the difference between systems. Quick story on where I'm at now, I appreciate any pointers.
- Started with disposables, tried almost any brand I was able to find and settled on blu ( I know....but they got me into this so I'm thankful )
- got one of the blu packages ( original ) and those help me stay away from the analogs for longer periods of time, we all now the drawbacks of the blu, there are all over the forum, but again for me they have been a godsend
- after a couple of weeks reading around here, today I pulled the trigger and got a eGo starter kit... ( graduation time!!!) it's on the mail now and should be here mid next week ill keep you posted on how it goes.
If you have good links to threads for newbies aside from the regular stickies I appreciate them

thanks for all the help!!

Quick question, how can I know the resistance of a carto? Multimeter?

In theory, use a multimeter/ohmmeter. In practice, most multimeters I've used are accurate to with an ohm or two at best. I have an older digital multimeter that has a 200-ohm scale (reads 0-199 ohms) that is useless to me trying to tell if I have a 2.2 ohm or 2.7 ohm carto. My analog meter has not been calibrated since 1988, and reading fractional ohms of this magnitude is at best +/- 0.5 ohm, with a fresh battery.

Some advanced PVs have a resistance measuring ability, and there are stand-alone measuing devices available from some suppliers.

Easiest way to know: if the carto is still new/in-package, it sometimes is printed on the wrapper/box, with LR (Low resistance) SR (standard resistance), or sometimes a resistance range it could be (e.g. 1.5-1.7ohm)

Thanks for the replies and the warm welcome, my ego is coming tomorrow ( at least that is what the USPS says) will keep you posted..

I'll check my current cartons with my multimeter, that Fluke is supposedly accurate to .1 ohm +1% that should bee good enough. But being the techie that I am now I'm interested in the PVs that show you the resistance.. Not that is a must have feature but I can see myself spending the money ;)

I will need to control myself or will end up spending all my analog savings :)
