Hi everyone! I'm new to this vaping after smoking for many years. 2 days ago I purchased a I Stick Peco. For the first 2 days I was doing good with the settings that the store set up for me. Today I can't take a hit because it is to hot. Unfortunately the store isn't open on a Sunday and so I'm hoping someone can tell what my problem may be. I know absolutely nothing about how these work so please break it down for me so I'll understand. Any and all help will be appreciated. Have a great Sunday everyone.

Welcome. Not familiar with that device, but someone who is will no doubt show up soon. Probably something to do with the temperature settings. My advice is to get yourself a back up device that is simple to use. There are many that are priced at $30 or less. You don't indicate where you are with smoking, but if you are just starting out it doesn't seem practical to be using a device that you don't know how to operate.

When beginning to vape in order to quit smoking, it is important to keep things a simple as possible. At least is was for me.

I hope you stick around this is a great community. Good luck!

Welcome to ECF Susie and Congradulations on your decision to stop smoking. You have come to the right place to get some help but unfortunately I am not an expert on these things. I would say to check the wattage you have your device set at. It may be that you have it set to high or higher then what the coil is cpapable of handling.

What is the Wattage you have your device set at?

The up and down buttons for wattage are on the bottom of the vape. If you pocket or purse carried without locking it (or maybe just something happened) it's possible you inadvertently changed your wattage without knowing it.

If you liked the vape at the store, then just change your wattage using the down button on the mod to what it was. Depending on HOW much you were vaping it is also possible you burned your coil (this could also have happened while vaping TOO high on the coil you have) so start by adjusting wattage down to where it was. If you don't know, go down to say five watts and increase a few watts at a time until you get a satisfying vape. If the juice and coil still taste burnt you may need to change your coil.

If all this advice is leaving you at sea a bit, go back to the vape shop where you got it and get their help in adjusting wattage and/or changing your coil. 5 clicks should lock the mod so the wattage stays where you want it, I think.

Good luck.

You say in you post that "Today I can't take a hit because it is to hot." Do you mean that the mouthpiece is too hot, or that the vape your getting when you press the fire button is too hot. If the mouthpiece is hot when you try to use it and you are not pressing the fire button that means the mod is auto firing and is defective. If your just getting too hot of a vape you need to turn the power down.

First off, Hi and welcome to the forum. Congratulations on giving up smoking and getting into vaping!

It could be a problem with your coil, if you have spare ones, maybe try and drop in a new one. when putting in a new coil, don't forget to prime it. Also take note what are the recommended watts for your coil, it should be written on the side. When breaking in a new coil, start at a low watt setting and gently go up in watts until you hit the setting that you like.

As tgs3 already said before me, its a very good idea to buy a very simple backup device for when problems like this come up on days that the vapeshop isn't open. This applies to coils too, always keep some spare ones, never know when a coil is gonna fail on you.

Hope you can solve your issue, whatever you do.. don't go back to the stinky sticks!

Hi Susie. Welcome to the ECF.

Is there another store near you that is open Today that you could take your Pico to and ask them about your settings?

The eLeaf Pico can run in a couple of Different Modes. Depending on the Type of Coil Head you are using in you atomizer. For someone just starting out, Wattage Mode is the simplest. And you would need to use either a Kanthal or Stainless Steel Coil Head to run in Wattage Mode.

I'm just Not sure what the Store set you up with? And they might have set you up to run in Temperature Control (TC) Mode.

If there Isn't a store Open today, I'm sure we could get you going. But we would need to see a Picture of the Pico's Screen. And to know what type of Coil Head you are using.

Thank you everyone for all your help. I think what my problem was , was that I was low on juice. Once I filled the tank back up it was fine again. I'm still doing the nasty cigs but went way down over the weekend so it's just a matter of time. Have a great week everyone!
Welcome and glad you joined.
Would not worry too much on the cig front, they generally disappear after the vaper gets into vaping.
