Hi and diluting question

Hi,
What a great site!! So much info.I have a simple question that ive looked for the answer but cant seem to find it.
I bought some Unflavoured nicotine e-liquid PG/VG 50/50 , Nicotine strenght: 36mg nicotine from the soulblu website.
It says DO NOT vape UNFLAVOURED 36mg NICOTINE ON ITS OWN.
Does this mean i need to add either pg and/or vg before i can vape it.
I have been vaping what i think is the same stuff just different nic strength and pg/vg level for bout a year with no hassles?
Thanks for any help
Matt

Hi Matt and welcome to ECF!

Many sites give that warning or something similar to it with anything higher than 24mg/ml unflavored juice. 24 is the (sort of) "standard" concentration for a heavy smoker.

That being said, some folks are using 36mg/ml juice (or hav used it in the past) with no reall ill effects because 24mg/ml just doesn't stave off the cravings well enough for them.

If you are used to a lower nic level in your juice, 36mg/ml might be a bit much for you. If so, then diluting it would be suggested. Or you could just vape less often. Your body will tell you what's right for you.

Hope it helps and Happy Vaping!

Looking at the site, I would guess that it is 3.6 mg/ml and fine to vape. That's definitely a pet peeve of mine. The labeling should be more explicit, especially when it comes to ingredients intended for DIY mixing.

It's still only a guess, though, but 12 NZD would be pretty cheap for 50ml of 36 mg/ml nicotine.

Im emailing them now but dont know how to explain my query? I Have 100mg bottles.
Could you kindly tell me what i need to say :) :)

Welcome Matt :)

I browsed soulblu's site, and from what I could tell, it is 36mg/ml liquid. Most vapers don't vape that high of a juice, but there are some who do (Nermal above^^^ among others)

Here in the States, I see 24-36mg/ml rated as "Extra Strong". What was the previous nic strength you were vaping before? What PG/VG? That would help figure out how much PG and/or VG to add to get you back to where you were.

You need to find out what the mg/ml ratio is. If it's 100 mg/ml, you DEFINITELY need to dilute it! Vaping that concentration straight would be extremely dangerous!

Just looked at their web site also. I think you meant to say 100 ml bottles, not 100 mg bottles. What I said before regarding 36mg/ml ratio still stands - could be a bit strong, but ok to vape if that's the strenght you need - otherwise, dilute it.

Sorry for any confusion.

No, no. If it's 36 mg/ml, you DO NOT want to vape that undiluted. Double check that.

Most people leave out the "per ml part" when discussing nicotine strength, assuming a 10 ml quantity. If it is actually 3.6 mg/ml, then there is no reason you couldn't vape it like Nermal says.

I am quite sure of what I'm vaping, but thanks for your concern.
