thecientist, IMO if you need to ask this question you should not be building that style of mod yet. Get more information on electronics, this stuff is all over the net and you can find it if you go looking.

Sorry man, not trying to put a damper on your plans here, just trying to help you stay safe. If you get some of this stuff wrong, you could be in for a world of hurt.

The ECF moders forum is here. Once you have 5 posts in, you can post there and get a lot more info.

HTH.

Hi everyone, I am new here and looking to build a mod. In order to do so i need to know how an ego-t style passthru battery is wired up, if any one could tell me or post a pic of it, or a link to a wiring diagram, been searching for a while now and still havent had any luck.[/QUOTE

Before you build your own car, you might want to own one first.

judgmental... resources would probably be moar helpful than safety advice considering the question = 2-cents but s'okay -1

I hear ya, but really, where do you start ... With this sort of thing, if you give advice if you can and miss something you thought the person would surely know because everyone knows that stuff, things can get nasty.

so ive been wiring up dc circuits since i was in highschool, i dont need some beginner mod. i have two passthru batteries that i bought and dont want to tear apart for learning purposes and i also have my first battery i bought when i started vaping that isnt a passthru. i want to take the guts of the old battery as well as the screw on charger for it and cannibalize the guts, into a custom case, maybe make something out of a nice piece of lumber. i want to add a usb port for charging and hopefully be able to vape while charging as well, thus i need the diagram for an ego-t passthru so i dont blow my self up.

We have been waiting for you to ask that question.
All we do is answer questions.
We are really not even human, just crawlers, looking to provide Google like answers to any and every question.

Most just CBA to spend 15 seconds on Google ("But I don't understand it's too complicated and I see more then just one result, how do I filter information?")

Only here 4 U!

I know how the non passthru battery is wired up, ive had to resolder the center pin on the atty connector, and i do plan to use the cone in the mod.

ive spent a bunch of time going thru google results as well as postings on this forum, i have yet to find any diagrams that i feel comfortable using for my plans to make sure it is done safely. quite often google brought me to ecf, but still all the mods i found arent in the range of what i want to accomplish. so i asked my question hoping someone with the knowledge would share, not treat me like a complete newb with their noses turned up.

The modder's forum. Here. No noses turned up.

Really, that's where you want to be.

i understand the dangers, and the only reason i havent posted in the moders thread is cause i just signed up on ecf and am not allowed yet(hopefully after this post ill b able to). all im really wanting to do is go from one case to another and add an internal usb port, not trying to change power flow, or make anything do more then its supposed to. and since none of you know what i have come across, thats why i made my question so clear, all i need is the schematics of an ego-t style passthru battery(i know how the non passthrus are wired), i can figure out the rest on my own, if i needed more info, i would of asked for more, i have no desire to blow my self up.

IDK what your motivation is....but charging batteries is one of the more dangerous points and a PT is near your face.

If you "just" want a PT with no battery, or can settle for that, you can make a 5 volt PT easily. Use an A/C->USB of at least 2.0 amps (3 is better) not your computer. Add a heavy USB cord and button and connector. Then you just need about 3.0/3.1 ohm coils. There's no battery for "carry away" though.

If you must build your own eGo PT (they are $25.00 new), there are pre-made PCBs that MAY have the circuitry you need. It's quite a challenge to DIY stuff in that form factor. It can be done with larger boxes...many modders have built chargers into their e-cigs.

Again, see the modders section.
