Thanks for the info.
It would help if I found some juice I really love, I have bought from many places and tried around 25 different flavors. I am looking into ejuice subscription services now, I noticed one of the biggest problems I am having now is finding ejuice. Not because I cant find it, because I find sooo much of it and dont know what to pick or what companies to go with, so I am hoping trying a subscription will take some of that frustration away from me.
I spent 5 hours reading this forum last night, trying to find the best strawberry juice. I ended up ordering the 10-15ml bottles from about 10 places and I'm just going to try them all til I find what I really like. Then I wanted custard too - and found Custards last stand and Grants vanilla custard and Blends by Bryce, so I think I will find one of those I really like they had soooo many good reviews they must be good (I hope!!).
Thankfully, I used to spend $100/week on smoking so I am allocating that much on vaping for the time being, to find what I like and the hardware I want to go with. That gives me room to try things and get it right.
Anyway - thanks again for taking the time with all that info! I really do appreciate it!
Well, looking at the Mig Cigs, I'm sure you are finding out they are highly overpriced. They are.. essentially... A cigalike battery using a clearomizer similar to a stardust... Both are older technologies. If you look at your atomizer, you notice how it's bigger than the battery, and it just abruptly stops? Well, the EGO styles, that shoudl be flush all the way down. That little bit of extra space allows for a battery that can last four times longer with the same settings.
Now, as far as what wattage, what coils to make, etc... (kind of replying to all your replies in this thread)... First, get yourself off of cigarettes.. and get into vaping first. I wouldn't attempt it, but I would buy gear that can be upgraded to it in the future.. in case you do want to go that route. I remember seeing a Blu booth on the mall, and the guy there just puffing away in the middle of a crowded Christmas rush.. the little blue light boldly showed it was NOT a regular cigarette. IT was a black cig with a blue light.. I thought "It's just a vanity thing... he thinks he looks cool". Passed it up not giving it a second thought... until a year later I saw it again and checked on the price.... $70 for their cheapest startup.. that's a lot to pay for someting I didn't like... so I passed it up again. Late one night I was in Kroger, and saw an electronic cigarette starter kit for $20. I figured THAT was a bit more comfortable pill to swallow to try something.. so I bought one and tried it. It actually tasted good.. not like a cigarette, and fufilled my smoking wants for a while. THAT is when I finally started doing some research.
I used the cigs for a while, but kept having to chunk money into buying new atomizers. I saw online you can refill them somewhat, and I did that... taking the top off and filling them... that only prolonged the atomizer by two uses. I looked for something that fully took ejuice, and I stopped off at a local ejuice place... it was an hour drive, but I took it. Their starter kit was $70... Well, I saw how much bigger they were, but I still got it. While there, someone had what I thought was a HUGE ecig.. looked like a pipe with a little atomizer on top.. he dripped a few drops in it, and massive clouds came out. I never thought I'd get to that level. I was satisfied with my purchase.
I think I may have told those stories to you before, but I'll stop here on MY vaping journey. I think that's the point where you're at now. When I bought my first starter kit, they gave me 5 bottles of ejuice, and they let me try the different flavors. I think that's what you should do now... is find a local shop, and ask to sample some juice. My preference back then was still a pseudo tobacco flavor, but much sweeter.. I later found out it was them relabeling Hangsen's RY4. If you can find a local shop, see if you can try their juice. If you find a few that you like... ask what flavors they are. Sometimes they come up with their own names, and some can be quite strange. But find out if you like sweet, or more smokey flavors.. custards or citrus flavors... Go ahead and buy one of their bottles, but look online and see if you can find something similar. More often than not, it is MUCH cheaper
The nautilus is a great tank for beginning. IT has a mouth to lung inhale like you're used to, and it provides excellent vapor. The tank will last as long as you take care of it. I have an earlier version called the Mini protank I still have and it's well over a year old.. I took it out camping just last weekend. Like the Nautilus, it has replaceable coils. As long as you have a glass tank, the only thing you have to worry about is not breaking the glass, and not doing dry hits. coils for the nautilus are cheaper than the clearomizers from Mig Cigs.
And you don't need to memorize ohms law, but here is a brief explanation (you can skip this paragraph if you'd like). With electircity, there are three settings to be concerned with; ohms, voltage, and wattage. Ohms is just resistance. The thinner twire is in the heating coil, the higher the ohms rating, the more it will not pass electricity but convert it to heat. The next two are voltage and wattage. With ohms law, you need three settings, resistance, voltage, and wattage. If you know what two number are, the third is a set amount. If you have 4.2 volts, 1.8 amps.. the wattage will be a set amount (9.2). I really don't look into the numbers that much. I am more interested in battery safety. I honestly don't care what wattage is is... I try to aim for the 4-4.2 volt range. I put on the atomizer, fire it for less than a second to check the voltage. I up the wattage utnil I get my 4.2 volts... The screen tells me what setting everything is working at when I fire.
Well, in short.. don't sweat it. Vaping should be fun, not work. If you're happy with your current setup, then stick with it. Not smoking is your goal, and so far, so good...right?
Good luck I can be a bit verbose some times.
