Hi from a future REO owner

Just my 2 cents on the fuse. You don't *need* it, the spring does serve the same safety function, however, the fuse (I use a shortstop) after being tripped, will, within a minute, reset itself, and so is reusable over and over. The spring has to be replaced if it sags.

The link above for the shortstop is not where I got mine, the place I got it is out of stock. It's just to show you what it looks like and how it operates (sort of)

eh, like pdib said, they are definitely vapeable. They are what I use. I do want to try some others, just haven't been motivated enough to decide which yet.

Cahdek, the rabbit hole goes a hell of a lot deeper in other branches of this maze. REO delivers the whole kitten caboodle. If you are content with just one (lmao) you already have the best aspects of current vaping hardware in a very durable package, and they look really cool

I am truly glad I only spent 5 months searching and trying all sorts of stuff before I decided to get a REO. When I was spending money fumbling my way down the rabbit hole I was buying stuff to replace stuff that I don't use anymore, looking for a better vape. I have no doubt future investments will be money and time well spent on stuff that will either get used or get cherished.

Yep, the ShortStop is a good one, I got two of them for my gf and her friend who wanted to try vaping IGO style but were terrified by the little bit of information they had consumed about the potential danger of unregulated vaping.

You are all metal heads,mand yes I'm looking in your direction super! But I wouldn't ever use my woody without a fuse or shortstop because the springs aren't as easy to replace than in a Reo Grand. Although the OP wasn't talking about a woodvil, we all know at some point he will be! So I say, slap on a fuse, pay your taxes and go to church on Sundays, folks!

Something just took me over, moved my mouse, filled in contact and payment information at hit submit. Here goes! I ordered a Grand with RM2, 30 ga kanthal, 2.5mm wick, spare springs, o-rings and extra bottles.

As I said in the RBA forum, I'm an engineer by trade and degree and I can certainly appreciate the machine work that has gone into these. Simple, well designed and awesome functionality

I've been doing research on the REO mods and im convinced. Haven't bought one yet because I cant decide between Grand or VV Grand. I plan to order a RM2 at the same time.

I 've watched videos and read blogs on rebuilding and it seems super simple. Ive rebuilt protank and evod heads but haven't tried a REAL RBA.

So, I guess what im saying is... hi!

Yep. I didn't cotton up to the cotton yarn but this rolled cotton is a game changer. It's all I use now.

I have a Mini 2.1, Grand, & VV Grand. Haven't got much use on the VV yet & the Mini is my favorite to carry but I would also say a Grand is the best to get. It's pretty much perfect for everything.

If you buy good batteries for your mech. you won't have any issue with batteries fading. Rob recommends the AW 1600 mAh 18650 (which kick ayss on the charts/tests). I use the MNKE ~1500 mAh 18650, which don't look as good in charts but perform spectacularly. (My next batteries will be AW 1600 mAh to compare) The AW 2000 mAh batteries don't perform as well for mech. vaping as do the 1600 mAh.

I had AW IMR 1600s from using in my flashlights (they didn't have the hybrid IMR 2000s back then). I bought a 2000 to try & I prefer the 1600s. The 2000 does last a bit longer so the capacity is about right but the 1600s have less voltage drop over the life of the charge compared to the 2000s. Plus I can charge the 1600s at 4.5A where the 2000s have a max charge rate of only 2A. That even lower than the max charge rate of the IMR 18490s.

VV is automatic cars and Mechs are stick shift cars. It's not a coincidence that some of the finest rebuildable delivery device users happen to also know a thing or two about sutble differencres between batteries and an intimiate knowledge of voltage, amperage, and what-not.
