Hi from Rick and Brenda

Hi my name is Rick, from Tampa Florida, my wife Brenda and I started vaping last Saturday, March 3, 2013.

I was a three pack a day smoker and had been trying to quit for well over four months, was down to one pack a day, my wife was a one pack a day smoker. Once we started vaping we quit cigarettes completely; I was surprised at how easy it was. We still have half a carton sitting on the kitchen counter (and there they are going to stay till we throw them out).

I have been trying to do some research on e-cigarettes and have found that a lot of the research is very inaccurate, incomplete, confusing and in many cases contradicts itself. If anyone has any suggestions on where I can find some good research from a reputable source I would appreciate a link to the articles.

My wife and I are currently using the Totally Wicked’s Tornado-C twist is with the 1.8 e-juice menthol. I love having the ability to adjust the voltage. I have to admit, it’s just like smoking, minus a lot of the bad crap that comes with it and also love the fact this is a hell of a lot less expensive than smoking.

So far so good, I feel better, my food tastes better, I don’t stink and I can smoke in the house without it affecting my kids or grandkids. So far I give this a four thumbs-up.

I’m open to any suggestions or comments from anyone with more knowledge and experience than I.

Hope to hear from you guys soon,

Rick and Brenda :)

Welcome to the forum! You've taken the first step on a journey. It may all be smooth sailing from here on out, or you may hit some bumps in the road. Best advice I can give is the usual stuff:

1- backups for your backups
2-expect some withdrawal symptoms
3-hydrate
4-your tastes/preferences will likely evolve over time
5-stay on the forum. All the above are discussed regularly here.

Hey Rick and Brenda !
Welcome to ECF- and the wonderful world of Vaping.
Glad you made the switch... It sure is alot better, in many ways !

Charmschool covered many bases...and I think with some good ejuice and your Vape gear...
you two are going to do great !

We are all rooting for you !
(Once you get your five posts in, and wait an hour or two...you can roam around.)
There is a large group of FL vapers on here...with meet ups and vendor locations for different juices.

Best to you both !

Hi Rick and Brenda :toast: I've only been vaping about 2 months and already prefer it to smoking (15 years, pack a day habit) for all the same reasons you listed.
My morning cough has gone, I can breath in much more deeply without any wheezing, saving money, don't stink of smoke and I actually prefer the whole experience of vaping to smoking . That's all the research I need right now, but thanks for that link Baditude, will give it a read!

anyway..welcome on board Rick and Brenda and congrats on making the switch to vaping! you know it makes sense :)

I am also located in Tampa FL and also started out with the totally wicked system you have. CASAA is the best resource for the information you are seeking i think, but beware that the research on E-cig is still very young compared to the research on analogs. Now on to you vendor , sorry but i hate to tell you this, they are the most expensive vendor in our area and there customer service is not great. I have had many a problems with them and have cut ties with them ( i will not deal with them for nothing). If you look in the neg. vendor review thread on this forum you will see a lot of neg. reviews of them, but if you like them then go for it.

There are 2 more vendors located right here in Tampa , one that i use the most is a real small shop not in a fancy building like TW but there price make TW look like a bunch of bank robbers. There is also another shop in south tampa which i plan on going to in the morning to pick some stuff up from. I have not been to this shop yet but i can let you how it is.

Good luck with vapping and also i have some juice that is not my cup of tea i can trade or give to you just let me know.
