I stumbled across this forum while searching for an answer to my current problem. The amount of information on here is overwhelming!
I switched from analogs to Blu this past May. Within the past two weeks I finally stopped in at a local shop and they hooked me up with an Ego which is now virtually unusable... After a few days it was like the liquid was getting too hot and leaking all down in the battery. Now I can't get either battery to hold a charge that lasts longer than a few drags. Wasn't sure if it was my charger since the light never turns green no matter how long I leave it. Starting to wonder if I should have just saved the money and stuck with Blu. Feeling a little frustrated right now

Hey Lori,
Sorry to here your bad experience with the Ego. What are you using for your topper? juice leaking INTO the battery compartment isn't normal.

While Blu is an easier option, its very limiting as far as what you can do with it, i.e. flavors, nicotine levels, more vapor, more throat hit, etc.

As previously stated, a new shop should definitely be in order. If you're close, Wentzville has an EXCELLENT brick n mortar that will gladly take care of you. Also, St. Charles has a couple decent shops.

Just my two cents, hope it helps.

Well, I would have expected someone to drop off a few recommendations by now. Apparently the Blu's are working for you, so you don't really need to change. If you decide to there are many kits recommended all through the various threads on here. I would recommend a variable voltage, at least one bcc tank, a carto tank, and a top wick tank. You won't know until you try the which you like better.

I suggest you take it back to the local B&M and get it exchanged, that's not right!

And welcome to ECF, hang in there ... it's worth it ;)

Thanks for the replies. I'm using the topper it came with. I'm really pretty ignorant about all this evidently. He asked me some questions and then handed me a kit. Gave me a bit of instruction and no manual. Never brought up cleaning it or replacing parts. From what I can tell the topper is H2 bottom coil. I didn't know what questions to ask except for battery related. I was told it was a 900 if that matters. I'm thinking I should pack it all up and take it back and ask more questions.
Rat - I'm on the east side and not even sure where all to find them nearby.
When I unscrew the battery to charge it the liquid is puddled there on the battery side.
I wanted more options (and better options) that I can get from Blu. Love the portability but not the dependability.

ok, seeing liquid inside the connector is normal, a small bit of liquid that is. i usually clean mine out everytime I refill, with a qtip.
If your connector ( the small brass centerpiece) is submerged, you probably have a bad seal in your tank, and tank should be replaced.
Gateway Vapors, StLouis Vapors have a few storefronts, and I have seen a B&M in the Loop on Delmar, but I can't recall their name...Any of these should be able to take care of ya...
Whatever way you wanna go, whether it's Blu or Ego, is a good thing. As long as no more analogs, you're all good!

Lori, I had the same problem with mine when I first started, and I talked to a few people about it. They suggested that I try a bottom coil tank, as they seem less prone to leaks than the top feeder tanks. I have switched to T3 tanks and Kanger Pro-2 tanks, and I have not had the liquid in the battery connectors since. As far as the battery problem, I'd take it back to the B&M and see if they will exchange it for you, or just pick up a battery. I tried Blu, and they didn't do much for me, but if it works for you, then go for it.

    I'm back :)
I did go back to where I bought it and they gave me another charger when I described the battery issue. Charged both batteries fast but wasn't able to use them long before they were blinking again. I'm taking it all back again tomorrow and don't want to sound ignorant when I do so I'm rehashing this.
I'm trying to research and make sure I didn't destroy the batteries myself somehow. I'm starting to think they are generic batteries because there are no name markings on them anywhere. The first time I used each they lasted me almost 24 hours and went steadily downhill after that. It also tends to get hot and sometimes really hot in the middle where to top of the battery connects to the rest. I think that's when the juice leaks down where the battery screws onto the rest. I really want these to work  I've ordered more supplies online already (including an Evod) and I'm tired of using my tasteless emergency Blu stash. I hate to throw money away. Any advice is greatly appreciated!

    Welcome to ECF!

Not knowing what you're using, it's hard to be real specific...

In general, Ego type batteries need to charge until the charger light goes green. Have you been charging them that long? (When first plugged in, the battery light will flash a bunch, then stay on for quite a long time, and the charger light will be red. After awhile, the battery light will go out, but the charger light will still be red until full charge, when it goes green. The battery light will flash when you take it off the charger. So you have a clue as to what's normal :) )

The topper - the part that holds the liquid and heating coil - is another story. It may be defective, cracked, and need to be replaced. The coil inside may have come loose from it's stem. That can sometimes happen just from opening it up to fill.

Some moisture on the battery top isn't uncommon. A LOT there is bad news. Indeed, clean the top of the battery (and the bottom of the topper) with a swab or twist of tissue every time you take them apart. If the juice dries on the battery, it will interfere with charging. Alcohol on a swab to clean that off, and allow enough time for it to evaporate before using or charging.

    Keep us posted!

This is what my battery looks like. http://www.analogalternative.com/images/EGO Battery 002.jpg
But I think my button looks like a more clearish white. no markings to identify type but was told it was a 900 when i asked. I wasn't given any paperwork. Not even a manual. Nothing on the receipt except Ego kit.
The rest looks like this but my ring is white not black.

Yes the light turned green in the beginning. Today I had it plugged in about 7 hours at work and it never turned green. Not sure how long I had it plugged in yesterday but it was hours. Right after I got the replacement charger I charged both batteries and it took 2-3 hours each before the light turned green. I'm afraid to leave it plugged in overnight. I have two of each part. No combination is working correctly. I've cleaned them with alcohol on a swab and it helped very briefly vaporwise. No difference on charging. I've tried looking at everything. He looked at them briefly when I took it back to the shop. Guess one of them is going to be doing it better tomorrow. I just don't want to overlook something stupid. I seem to always be the only woman in there so I feel a little weird to start with.

From your pics it looks like a clone of a T3, so it may have had the head come loose. And the battery looks like a common Ego style. It's possible that, with enough - i.e. LOTS - of juice getting inside it the electronics have been damaged. But try cleaning the contacts on the charger as well. If the battery is wet when you put it on charge, some of the juice gets transferred to the charger contacts. It's possible too that the charger has gone bad. Do you have another you can use, or borrow, to find out if that's it?

Sometimes it's just a process of elimination.
