Hi from Tel Aviv! + 6 looong rambling questions!

Hey ECF members!

I'm 25 and smoked analogs for the last 8 years (half a pack to 1 pack a day Camel lights or Djarums, when I was living in the US.) I quit analogs once, cold turkey, lasted for a few months. Picked it up again when I moved to Israel - so for the last 5 or so years I've been more addicted than I ever have been. I knew I wouldn't be able to quit cold turkey again but didn't know of any alternatives (my parents quit with the help of Wellbutrin/Zyban but that's not for me, neither is the gum or patch.)
My aunt's mom was recently diagnosed with cancer due to smoking so they all picked up vaping. My aunt let me try her Joye eGo one day and I liked it. I ordered myself a starter kit that weekend and did so much research I started to go cross eyed from reading (haha ;o) Anyway, I'm so glad I found this forum. I'd be lost without it!

I just got my e-cig starter kit yesterday (they accidentally sent me a Joye 510-T instead of the regular but.. *shrug* aside from leakage, this tank system is pretty neat.)

Anyway, I have a few looong questions. Ready? Ok, let's go.

1) This is my 2nd day vaping and as I said, my tank system leaks sometimes or gets condensation where the atomizer connects to the battery. The juice gets all over my hands and sometimes on my mouth - either I'm sensitive to the smell or I don't know what, but even after I wash off the juice, I can still smell it! It's like it won't come off?
I have a dog and she's always licking my hands and face and stuff so I'm worried about it harming her.. what can I do about this? Aside from wearing gloves while handling cartridge tanks and washing my hands like an OCD person. Is there a mod to stop it from leaking?

2) My first day vaping, I didn't really like the e-liquids I got. They're Dekang (Nport, Clove & RY4 - all PG 18 mg) and the taste and smell was just so strange.. like smoky nuts or the smell of a freshly opened pack of analogs. But I tried them again today and the taste is a bit different. Are my taste buds adjusting? Is that taste normal? I'm still not too keen on it, but I'm going to stick with it until I find a different supplier. I understand Dekang isn't the best quality e-liquid? (The Clove one is still really disgusting. Blech.)

3) With the Joye 510 Tank, do I need to drip a few drops onto the atomizer to keep it wet? I'm afraid I'll burn it out as it does get a bit hot in my hands.

4) When I vape, I get really hot. Sometimes it's enough that I sweat but most of the time it's like.. I dunno, hot flashes - except I'm 25 years old! Is it dehydration? I'm drinking as much as I can but it's still happening. I'm sitting here literally fanning myself! Maybe it's anxiety from nic withdrawal?

5) Are there any other ladies here with thyroid issues? I've been diagnosed for a few years now and I'd love to chat with you about the thyroid & vaping and any changes I should expect.

6) I need a regular supplier ASAP! I'm determined to stick with this. Who ships to Israel and accepts Paypal? (I know Paypal is against tobacco related transactions but you can get away with it if you're not US based...) Heaven-Gifts ships here and takes Paypal BUT I don't want a supplier in China - shipping from there takes too darn long. And I'd prefer if their prices are in USD and not Euros or Pounds. I really hope someone can help me out with that. I need to buy more e-liquids (not Dekang) and atomizers, etc.

Hi and welcome to ECF.

We have international forums that you can access after you have 5 posts and wait for a server update (usually around an hour) in Israel your may be able to find suppliers in the EU or UK, I would think.

As for your questions.

1 Tanks leak though the common problem with 510 tanks is usually they don't wick. I do not own any tank system and I know even less about the 510-T than the eGo-T but I will try to help with what I do know. Leaking out the bottom of the atomizer is generally caused by the wick being too far down in the pierce tube. You may be able to get a toothpick or a pin into the tube and pull up on the wick a little. There is an angled cut on the end of the pierce tube the top of the wick should be at the height of the low side of the tube.

2 Dekang sucks, in my opinion, though I do share this opinion with many other vapers. Juices that are made with an alcohol based flavor can have a nasty chemical taste to them as well. The longer they sit (steep) generally the better they get but to expediate removal of the alcohols you can leave them sit with the cap and drip nipple off over night. (in a safe place where no animals or children can get to them and putting them in a container such as a bowl that will catch the juice should the bottle tip is also a good idea.)

3 The atty needs to stay wet, but if you have a leaky tank its staying wet, attys do get hot from chain vaping its not a problem but if it is too hot take a break for goodness sake, you're not a steam engine.

4-5 Hot.... well it is Israel, sorry, I haven't heard of this condition before, but it is a common problem in people with thyroid problems, it could very well be a symptom of smoking cessation as well. You will be able to go and visit the medical forum after you have your 5 posts as previously mentioned. You are vaping 18mg unless you are chain vaping all day long you aren't getting too much nic, if you were overnicing you would feel light headed, dizzy, jittery, or nauseated. Nor will you have nic withdrawl at 18mg. 18 is like the medium well of vaping. Its not a lot but it is a bit more than average or standard.

Hey CBB, thank you so much for your reply! These tips are really great.

I definitely don't feel like I'm overdosing myself (I am a little jittery but I think it's more energy from NOT smoking.) I'm going to ask my doctor about the hot flashes thing.. I do think it's thyroid-related *sigh*. I was hoping there were a few members with the same problem that could chime in on that ) I'll check out the medical forum.

About the e-liquids, do you find that even after you wash it off your hands, you can still smell it? Or is it just me?

Juices are flavored with concentrated food flavoring, they are quite strong, so it is not unusual for the scent to stay on things that it touches. If you wash with soap and water the PG and or VG and any excess nicotine will be gone, any nicotine that is left would be absorbed into your skin. As long as you wash after getting juice on your hands your pets should be fine.

And 1 advice from me.Start using VG juice mixed with PG for normal working on Tank system.Im using 80% VG+ 20% PG Dekang and im very pleased with it.It start leaking when in the tank reamins 15% of the juice.I just refill it and cotinue viping.

Hey vakill, thanks. I thought about cutting my juice with VG anyway - as soon as I get some from the pharmacy. I really need to find a good supplier (doing research now). I figured out the tank thing just now lol. It does seem to only leak when it's right at the very end so I just never let it empty. Do you think I can use more than 20% VG? Is 50/50 ok?

Ofc,but you need more than 50% VG (i use 80% VG !).As for the combination ,just try it and see which will woks fine for you.The ony thing that is important to know and be carefull is,if you get too much VG juice it wont wick well.In this situation there is a high % u get burn taste hit.You must avoid this.Things to do for this: after filing your tank take 5-6 puffs without starting the battery.After every puff you will see a buble coming in your tank.Do this for 5-6 bubles then start viping normaly.
