Hi guys + my issue :-)

Hello everyone and thank you in advance for your time, i'm vaping since several months but i'm still a rookie !

Here is my problem :
i am struggling since months with that problem on my tarot nano + veco plus tank and ceramic coils, as i release the fire button, i take a push of air (stronger than my aspiration) with a bad taste similar to a dry hit (on every 1/3 or 1/4 puffs), i don't know how to explain it better, i just know that it make a sound like PSSSH at the end of my aspiration AFTER i release the fire button (0.1 sec after i lift my thumb pff the button). I tried everything (new coil, other tank (veco from the kit), new box (been replaced by the shop) new series of coil, new settings on the box), the only difference i found is with the traditional cotton coil => it work fine.

I'm here to ask for help on this problem ! If anyone as an idea i'd be glad to ear it!

Note that my friend who has the same setups doesn't have this issue, so it might be me using it wrong but i don't know how lol

Sounds like juice sizzling on coil. It takes a second to cool off sometimes after a puff. Your friend has the same setup, is he using the same style coil and at the same wattage? Do you take a longer puff than your friend or more frequently? Stuff like that heats the coil more and it stays hot longer the hotter it gets.

Same settings with same coils for my friend and me, even if i take short puffs it happen, i really don't understand where it come from, i've read that if the top cap is screwed to tightly it may cause some dry hit, i don't know but it worth the try anyway, i must try everything xD ! thanks for the answer ! It's freaking annoying cause i can't enjoy vaping for now.

One other thought: could be that the juice you're using is pretty thick (higher vg) and is not getting into the coil fast enough. If it does not currently leak at all, try taking a small needle and put a tiny hole into the cotton of the wicking holes directly on the coil head. This will allow more liquid in and may prevent any dry hit. The sizzle for 1 second would not bother me, but if you're getting a bad taste - that needs fixing.

Already tried that, my juice is 50/50 poking a hole didn't changed anything, i just installed a new coil, i primed it and let it settled for 1hr in juice and and after 10 puffs with approx. 1min between them : burn taste but haven't had the issue i'm talking about for now. I'll let you you know how the situation evolve ! Thank you for helping me

btw, i'm on vt mode 200°c at 30w with a coil automatically detected at 0.45ohms

I don't know anything about th e taro or the tank so I'm no help on specific wattage and temp and all...
One troubleshooting option, switch tanks with your friend and see if it acts the same on his or her device, and how the other tank acts on yours. That could isolate the issue to the tank or your taro. Unless it's something that the other person just doesn't notice or the issue is somehow caused by how you vape.

to be more precise, of all the test i've been doing since the problem appeared, it can't be : tank, coil, box
i have 2 tanks and the issue is happening with both of them
i have changed many many times the coil, waited to have a new box of coil because i was thinking maybe a bad series of coils
box have been change by the shop
it's only happening with ceramic ones

I'm starting to think that i am the issue here, but doesn't matter if i change how i vape, the problem still occure that's why i'm freaking lost now !
I'll definitely try to switch tank with my friend one !

So like i said, i'm on a new coil now, and it taste really bad but no problem so far.

I'm mean there's definitely a absorption problem no ?
If i can, i will post a sound clip for you guys to ear the noise i'm talking about, but it may be difficult to record it !

Could be your device is reading wrong, so perhaps try lowering your settings? I have a dinosaur mvp that has always burned coils when it's display reads more then 5 watts. Sometimes the electronics can be wonky on these high tech little wonders! So drop you temp way down and play a little to find the sweet spot maybe? If that's the issue and it bothers you, perhaps ask the manufacturer to exchange. Or just vape on happy to have it sorted!

Oh and you can try changing juice or adding a few drops of distilled water NOT tap or bottled to a tank to thin it out a touch if it's a wicking issue. Can happen esp with a dark or sweet juice.

Thanks but the box have already been replaced with a new one, so i don't think it's the issue here and i'm using the recommended settings, and for all the thing the box can detect, nothing is wrong on the value on the screen, so i guess it's definitely not the electronic problem.

Could be the juice but i already changed it, but always with a 50/50 (that's what recommend the shop), i've read that additivs like sweetener can cause some issues but i don't have juice without it so i plan to not add sweetener next time i do my juice.

So you're running the mod in temp control mode? Are the coils you are using even compatible with TC? Maybe I missed where you say what tank/coils you are using. You mention something about ceramic coils though?

I would suggest switching it to power mode with a new coil. Maybe start at 15 watts after priming it and working your way up.

score 69 : i mentioned it, i'm using EUC ceramic 0.5ohms coil compatible with temp control, the 0.5 range is 25-35w, i'm always priming my coils. Already been using all the mods compatibles with the coils, always getting bazck to the same problem !

Have you tried using the ceramic in power mode rather than tc?

Sounds good, I'm not familiar with those type of coils. Would still be interesting to see if it functions better in power mode. Maybe something is 'off' using them with TC?

I wasn't aware that ceramic could be used with TC. Not that familiar with TC myself anyways.

Just a suggestion to try it in power mode to see if the issue resolves.

For all i know, the shop told me to avoid the TCR mode on tarot nano cause it's not very stable, i switched back to VT thinking that maybe was the pblm, but still getting this issue on VT

Did you prime your coil correctly?

If you don't know what that means, ask your friend.

To me (with so many tanks and mods etc.) this HAS to be user error. And, I mean no offense by that, but hopefully you are getting your coil ready to vape by using slow, gentle inhales to wick juice into the coil. Stuff like letting it sit overnight doesn't work with many coils. You need to take about five inhales WITHOUT the power button, then slowly and gently increase wattage by 3 watt increments say (you may get no visible vapor at first, this is totally fine) but just keep increasing slowly and allow the coil to "adjust" to having liquid through it. You may also find a sweet spot BELOW where you are currently vaping.

Start with a new coil and clean the tank thoroughly, and I mean DISASSEMBLE it, because burnt can linger in the tank. You also need to discard all the juice that was burnt (I sincerely hope you weren't pouring it back in the bottle or anything, that would mean the juice (in entirety) is toast.

If your juice is still unpolluted, I (personally) would add a few drops of distilled water to thin the vape. It can make a world of difference.

Hi and thank you for responding, none taken, i'm 75% sure the pblm come from me anyway but i was hoping to eliminate any other possibilities.

So i did what others recommended me, i use power mode and starting low watt, i went from 25w et increased it 1 by 1 watt t'ill i hit 35w, so far no problem, then i switched on TC-VT mode because 35w power mode didn't gave satisfaction (i like a warm smoke), so far no problem, i think you're right, i was maybe firing on new coil with to much power on the beginning, i usually do what you said (puffs without firing for example) so for now no problem, i'll let you know if anything go wrong.
