Hi I'm Krasivaya and I need some help!

First off I'd like to introduce myself, my name is Krasivaya but feel free to abbreviate it if you'd like to be more informal. I'm 25 and have been vaping for about 2 years in an effort to quit smoking.

I currently use a sigelei fuchai duo mod and a horizon tech Arco 2 tank with the recommended t6 coils. I use premium juices my favorite has been the teardrip line.

My problem is that no matter what I do my coils burn out within 1000 puffs, I prime the coils, dry hit (without hitting the power button), let them sit for about 5 mins, then use on about 50 watts until about 30 puffs then I go back up to 70 watts (I've tried the recommended of 80-90 and there's no change in longevity.)

My coils used to last about 3 weeks and about 2 months ago they only lasted a week, if that. I always make sure I have juice on hand and never go below the minimum fill line. My local vape shops are all at a loss with this and so am I, can anyone offer me any help?

I have tried using a different tank, the cleito 120 by aspire with this coil only lasting a little over a week or 1000 puffs and it's tasting burnt, but I'm chalking that up to using a different flavored juice that was VERY sweet. I'm going to change the coil today and use the aqua line for it and see if it has the same effect on the cleito that it did on my Arco.

Maybe it's just me but 1000 puffs sounds like a lot. To be honest I've never counted my puffs, so I don't really know.

This seems to be one of the most common issues with vaping: coils which "burn out" prematurely.

This phenomenon could be the result of a vast number of reasons. Often, especially with newer vapers, new coils are not being being adequately primed or "broken in". Another reason could be chain vaping: vaping so fast and furious that the wick is unable to be refreshed fast enough to prevent the burnt taste of cotton. We should not discount that the coils are just of poor quality...thousands of coils are made by hand by lowly paid factory workers with no way to quality check them before being shipped out for sale. Different e-liquids, especially those "dark", thick, and sweet flavors, tend to decrease the longivity of factory made coils; its just a fact.

In a nutshell, it is not the "coils" that are burning out. It is that the wick material is unable to remain wet enough to prevent scorching or burning. Unvaporized sugars left behind on the coils can cause a burnt taste.

My suggestion is to insure that you are indeed adequately priming your "coils" and "breaking in" your coils appropriately. Try to avoid chainvaping if possible; using more than one tank and splitting time between them might prolong coil longivity. Be certain to use authentic brand name coils as replacements. Consider using a different e-liquid.

You may want to consider using a RBA (rebuildable drip atomizer). With one, you make your own wire coils and wick them with your own wick material (cotton or cellucotton Rayon). This cuts down on the expense of vaping, and also prolongs the life expectancy of coils. I had a homemade coil last me several months; I cleaned it by "dry burning" it and rinsing it with water.

Have you checked the authenticity codes for the newer coils? Could be clones, sometimes the vendors don't even know when they get a batch of clones. Could also just be a quality control issue, might be worth a shot to check authenticity and contact the vendor or Horizon Tech.

My mod has a puff counter on it. I tend to chain vape with short breaks when I'm at home and at work.

I would pick up a couple more tanks to rotate and send an email to HT. RTAs are great for chain vaping, but not for everyone, have you thought about trying one?

I'm curious to see how you resolve it...I would follow baditudes very good advice and if that doesn't solve it, perhaps the coil quality itself has gone down, like perhaps they changed to the wire manufacturer or something? I can definitely try that thank you both! Also I have emailed them and it appears they don't speak English very well so they aren't understanding the issues I'm having.

An RTA is a revuildable tank atomizer. There are tons of really helpful videos about coil building and safety...it's actually quite easy to do a basic coil build and a little practice and a few tutorials and you can get real fancy pants with it. People who build their own coils often find they last longer and taste better because they use more care and often better quality materials then standard factory coils. If you enjoy tinkering, you might check out the info here about your options and how tos. May be the trick you need!

No need to apologize. Rebuildables aren't for everyone. I would encourage you to educate yourself more about vaping and available gear in general tho. Would keep shop employees from taking advantage of you.

Welcome and glad you joined.
You are doing the right thing as to asking for help. Vape shops are great informational help centers, but I find it's good to consider the source. Their business is to help you in getting what you want at a price.
The real solution as @Baditude mentioned, is build your own coils (replace the wicks as often as you like). Coils can be bought, all ready formed*, and all you do is "thread the needle" with a new wick when required. You might start a new post entitled something like " Need recommendation for RBT similar to horizon tech Arco 2 tank".
In the interim, the Eleaf is reported to be a good off the shelf coil with decent longevity (100+ ml lifespan).

The Cleto coils get decent longevity my son would regularly put 120 mls through his, but he didn't chain vape and he also used citrusy clear juices. 1000 puffs seems like a ton to me.

The crown Uwell (original or 3, if you are definitely a sub0hmer) get good reviews for coil longevity.

IMO chain vaping is a COIL KILLER more than anything else. Once I got more than two setups and also started using RTAs, my coil life improved SO much, and more than even the fact that I was spreading it across setups. It was more... I wasn't overheating my tanks. So maybe another setup (possibly an RTA if you are feeling brave and etc.) might do the trick.
