hello my name is Skylare and I'm been vaping for like a week and a half now, and starting to really enjoy it! don't need a regular cig which is awesome! I've been using 180smokes starter kit and its tastes ok but i can go threw a cartridge in less then a day (when i smoked i only smoked around 9 cigs a day) i was looking at this other site "epuffer" and there magnum rev-3 starter kit with the snaps, and was wondering if its any better then 180smokes products (when i say better is i mean saving money wise aka cartridges last longer)or if you guys know a better brand i can get that's better then epuffer i would love to hear it! btw im from Canada

Well, I'm not really familiar with those brands, but if you are looking for a cigarette-looking device, I'd try out one of these three, they are the most recommended here on ECF. I too only smoked about 1/2 a pack a day before and I was able to quit with the G6. Remember, whichever kit you get, be sure to get at least 2 batteries, and multiple, refillable cartridges. Good luck to you!

Happy vaping to you!

hi ruby! thanks for the reply and i did a little research into the g6 and the price seems pretty good but was just wondering how long does there prefilled cartomizer last for you?

Congrats on making the switch!

One thing to remember about the pre-filled cartos is that your usage depends on several factors including the nicotine content, the size of your puffs, the type of e-liquid (pg vs vg ratio) used, and the frequency of vaping (ie do you vape only when you feel an urge for nicotine, or do you vape for taste/enjoyment?) I've heard of people using anywhere from 1/2 to 3 cartomizers a day so I really think it depends on the person. Once you start filling your own you probably won't care how much you are using since e-liquid is pretty cheap in big bottles and you can fill a large tank and be good to go for at least a couple days.

I do think that it was easier for me personally to make the transition using a basic e-cigarette and pre-filled cartos while I researched the many vaping methods and products, and learned how to fill my own cartos and tanks without making a mess. If you're going to go that route and are concerned about price, I'd recommend starting on the 24mg nicotine cartos. Some sites say that these are equivalent to one pack of regular strength cigs but I've also heard that vaping delivers slightly less nicotine than smoking so its advised to start out at one level higher than your current nicotine level. Also, its up to you how much you decide to vape so I'd think its better to have something strong that you don't need to vape as much of as compared to having to vape nonstop just to satisfy your nicotine craving.

All of the kits listed here look pretty good, I'd also recommend checking out the Volt standard starter kit from Smokeless Image. The kit is the same price as the G6 and also includes 2 e-cigs and the same items (minus the carrying case) but the upside is that the mah is higher, meaning higher battery life (they will last longer before needing a charge.) The "180" you are using now refers to the mah of your battery; the G6 automatic is also 180mah, while their manual is 280. Volt is 220 for the automatic and 320mah for the manual. Automatic= the shorter e-cigs that activate from you inhaling Manual= There is a button that you push when you want to take a hit.
As mentioned already, you should start off with 2 e-cigs so you have something to vape while the other is charging. You may want to get 1 automatic and 1 manual to see what you prefer.

One other good thing about the Volt is that you can select a flavor sampler pack w/ 5 different flavors for your pre-filled cartos.

Good luck!

You might want to consider the Halo G6, as already noted. Cartos are never going to last very long, and it's a lot cheaper and more fun to use your own juice. Tastes better also. With the G6, you have the option of using their mini-tanks. That would be a good compromise. It will give you the slimmer style, good battery life and your choice of cartos, or bottled juice. Just be aware the G6 does not use 510 connectors so if you want to use it with cartos from sources other than Halo, you'll need to hunt for KR808's or use an adapter.

so if i buy the prefilled cartridges/cartomizers from halo i just pop the top to refill after there empty?

Yes, exactly. If you are putting in a similar or complimentary flavor, you don't need to worry about washing it out, or anything. As bulldog63h said, you just lift the little silicone or rubber mouthpiece out with a toothpick or paperclip, then drip around the edges with the e-liquid of your choice until the filler starts to look slushy. Try not to get any in the center hole. If you start to get drips out the bottom, you are definitely done filling. Dab any drips off before screwing it back on the battery, and you are good to go! If you are starting with a new blank cartomizer, you will need to let it sit for 10-20 minutes, then top off again before using, so you can be sure that the juice has saturated all the way down, or it will burn the polyfill when you try to vape it.

And don't be sorry about asking "noob" questions--we were all there once! :)

edited to add: Oh, and definitely take the cartos off the battery when refilling. You generally will get a couple of drops out the bottom when they are filled, and you don't really want that sitting on your battery post. Most batteries are "sealed", so it won't ruin them right off, but it will gunk them up eventually.

I started with White Cloud disposables in July of last year because I never in a million years thought after 35 years that I could quit tobacco. I haven't had tobacco since. After about a month I got White Cloud's starter kit. The initial investment wasn't bad and the cartridges come in 6 nicotine levels and lots of great flavors. The cartridges aren't nearly as expensive as a pack of smokes. I have noticed that quality is slipping with White Cloud in the form of multiple dead cartridges and their customer service quality varies with the day of the week. Now, I'm ready to switch to Halo Triton after reading so much wonderful information on this forum today. Overall, White Cloud is/was not a bad place to start. They got me off tobacco!

i am another one that is a fan of EGO brand... i recommend the EGO TWIST 1300... it has variable voltage, is sleek and you can put any tank on it... i love my twists and the variable wattage allows for different type hits and you can use a great variety of ejuice and get their full flavors .... also, many street shops have carry the components for the EGO line making replacement parts economic and easy to find.... i wish you well on your journey... it is a great hobby

Congrats and welcome One thing I have found is once you research find a reputable vape shop and go ask a bunch of questions. I bought on line but found myself at a shop to use their knowledge to help me getting more comfortable with what I wanted. Been very comfortable with there recommendation. If I can't touch it I wasn't gonna buy it.
