After maybe two or three years of lurking on the boards and then forgetting about it all and then lurking, repeat, I just finally ordered supplies.
I got a Bloog 65 and robot parts for it and juice from Vermont Vapor.
After a year of bad health problems (which have actually led to me smoking more due to not being able to do much else) and which have, also, made me face my own fragility in a new way, it seemed time to give quitting a real chance.
So, I got pretty much every charging option available and extras batteries and am, frankly, curious to see if this works on me. I have never, in 16 years, ever tried to quit because I enjoy it and life is awful enough without depriving oneself of things one actually enjoys. But it's nicotine I enjoy, the time out, the distraction, the relaxation, not the potential cancers, stink and sudden withdrawals. I used the patch, once, when I had my wisdom teeth out and nearly fainted and puked when I had my first cig after taking it off. And I've used the lozenges for flights and similar situations, but never with the idea of possibly permanently trading them for real cigs.
I had been very much leaning towards the eGos, based upon the mass of positive reviews, but the truth is I do want something that mimics a cigarette, I'm not a hobbyist (I'm an addict) and vaping some big, bulky robot isn't going to replace a 16 year comfort. Nor would it be terribly functional for me to do while painting or driving, etc. Did I mention I have very small hands and tendinitis in both wrists? Anyway, I would have preferred something with more cross-compatibilities, but the pretty much consistently raving reviews of the Bloog combined with its obvious ease of use and function swayed me.
As far as juice goes, I've read all the reports here of people having allergic reactions to PG and, as a result of my current illness, I've been developing crazy allergies to things I've never had a problem with before, so VG sounded like the safer bet. I, also, have no interest in juice that tastes like anything. I don't enjoy "taste" as a sense in general, really, prefer bland foods, no sweet tooth, etc. I'm, also, really scared of all this crap because it's all made in China and there have been so many problems with insane poisons discovered in their products from cat food to baby toys and so on for the past several years, so I had a much greater -- though perhaps misplaced -- trust in something American made with no flavor and with vg juice and Vermont Vapor seemed to fit the bill -- though, really, 6 bucks for shipping seems a bit steep for a total of 63 mls and 5 droppers. However, quibbling about 6 bucks when I just shelled out almost 200 for the devices and chargers seems silly. If this works, I'll have broken even in about 5 weeks, given that cartons in my area are about 50 bucks a pop.
So, that's where I am with all this. Gonna have to learn how to fill and clean cartomizers here, pretty soon, but I think that'll be easier with the tools in hand.
I'd really like to thank the whole community for all the great information you share and the innovations you've helped create and, really, the many lives you've helped to save.
Thanks!
