I haven't heard that one is better than the other. Remember how there used to be a Plymouth Neon and then Dodge started to make the Neon instead? Same sort of thing: Joye makes the eGo (so does Janty, so does Totally Wicked but they call it a Tornado instead) Someone else makes the same thing but call it Riva. They're all basically the same.

Ok so it seems my budget just went up a little LOL, helps to find some extra money and a birthday coming up lol.

So Riva vs eGo which is better? And what makes you say so? IS one better for newbies vs the other?

Neither really, it's probably more preference. They're both basically the same with a few minor differences. The button on the Riva has a hard rubbery feel to it for that reason most seem to prefer the Riva. The Riva has a 750mah standard battery compared to 650 for the Ego, this should say the Riva will last a little longer in between charges but the difference in real world practice if any at all is probably minor. The biggie for me seeing they both are basically the same is the Riva can usually be found much cheaper leaving more of your budget for other goodies, that makes it better in my mind.

Now someone whom i was talking with (hes a sceptic about everything) says that e-cigs arent good for your health. That they have found its actually more harmful than reg cigs. So what has been proven or atleast scoped out far as medical benefits vs reg cigs. I mean i know about the no tar and lack of chemicals from the reg cigs so i know thats a major plus but what about everything else? What about the claims that poped up a yr or so ago?

yeah...the FDA and the groups like ASH, ALA, ACS, campain for tobacco free kids have been spreding those lies for about a year now I'd guess...
they're good at kicking out buzzwords that people might find concerning if they don't pay attention...
the FDA report found 1 cartridge in the whole 18 they tested from SE and njoy that contained 1% DEG...and that was a big crap storm... they fail to tell you that it's in higher concentrations in regular cigs and that it was only in 1 cartridge though they couldn't get a measurable level in the actual vapor...it's one of those dose makes the poisons things...
They say Anti- Freeze...but fail to say that yes PG is used in anti-freeze...it's the more enviromentally safe alternative they went to...it's used for livestock in the winters as an additive for their drinking water to keep it from freezing...is approved by the FDA for human consumption up to something silly like 23mg/kg (yeah per kilogram of body weight)...and breaks down to lactic acid and leaves the body in about 4 hours...it's used in stage fog machines, asthma meds, nebulizers and breathing treatments in hospitals, as an air bactricide in hospital air, and is in soap, shampoo, personal lubricants, and as a food additive (candy flavorings are mostly a PG base)
they also cited tobacco specific nitrosamines...what they don't tell you is these are in levels equal to or less than what you'd find in the patch or nicotine gum or other NRT products....
in the years that e-cigs have been around there has been no seriuos injury or deaths attributed to them...
it's the big pharmaseutical companies and the Anti-tobbacco people running scared...
some fear that e-cigs will revive some of the social acceptability of something that looks like smoking...
e-cigs are also proving to be more effective in people using them and not smoking than any of their NRT products with their dismal failure rates...
and since places like the ALA, campaign for tobacco free kids, ACS all get funding from BP and also run the quit smoking hotlines, support groups, etc...of course they're going to be against something that threatens that....and they're going to spread their propaganda...
in reality though they say they're against smoking...they depend on people continuing to smoke and making failed attempt after failed attempt of quitting...because if the problem went away there'd be no need for them...they'd be out of jobs..

in eliguid youve got PG/VG/or both, nicotine (really no worse than caffiene), and flavoring (candy or baking flavoring you can get at any decent bakery supply shop)...versus 4000+ chemicals in cigs (including carpet glue now with the FRC).... it sould be a no brainer choice...and there's been several studies on inhaled PG showing no issues...

here's some more info regarding the safety of e-cigs: basically the jury is out because they DID find a toxin in the tests that they did. BUT what they failed to mention is that the same toxin is found in about 1000X the measure in tobacco cigarettes. and the amount found is e-cigs is not significant enough to pose a health risk to it's users.

All I know is, I used to get short of breath doing little things like climbing a couple flights of steps. Now, I actually aim for the steps and have no fear of huffing when I get to the top. If these are killing me, it seems to be at a much slower rate than analogs were doing it and that is a good thing. ;)

Even perfectly healthy people are just dying at the slowest rate possible.

The 510 is smaller, produces more vapor and more throat hit than the 901. The 510 vapor is hotter than the vapor in a 901.
The 901 provides better flavor, but slightly less vapor and throat hit than the 510. The 901 vapor is warm, but not hot like vapor produced by a 510. I think you can use Kr808 cartomizers on the 901, but would need an adapter to use them on the 510. I may be wrong about that part because I don't use Kr808 cartomizers.

so just buy the 510 carties??

Cart = cartridge, to be used in tandem with an atomizer
Carto = cartomizer, a hybrid of cartridge and atomizer in one unit (CARTridge + atOMIZER)
Cartie = ? :)

Sorry, just trying to keep things straight. But yes, the 510 cartridges, atomizers, and cartomizers will fit the eGo battery.
