Sorry got busy, had to get my "retirement project" knocked out so they could put it on the market!
Been working on this place for three years! Gutted the main floor, blew out four walls, and the second floor wasn't even there! I've had a hand in about everything other than the staircase (which I hate!) and most of the sheet rock was contracted, I can hang it, but I'm not a mud an tapper!
Did all the flooring, other than the carpet, and all the trim work. I can't even begin to express how happy I am to have this beast DONE!!!

I promise, my blood is in every room in that house! They have a contract on it already, so hopefully it goes fast!

Before that I finally got to spend some time with the chainsaws, three large silver Maples needed taken down, I worked with the climber to get all the overhead stuff down then I cut down the spars, finished up by cutting up into manageable chunks.
One of the chunks really caught my eye, I really liked the look of it so I brought it home with me! I made a coffee table out of it! IMG_3402.jpg
I cut the slab freehand with a 32" bar on a chainsaw, hand planed and sanded it down then put two coats of clear poly on it. After it stabilized, I planed and sanded it down again. I wanted it to have the imperfections, but look like it had a glass top so I filled all the imperfections with clear epoxy then hand rubbed twelve coats of clear poly on it.
I had some old, rusty, pitted 1 1/4" square tubing that I cleaned, cut, welded, primed and painted black for the base.
It was a tremendous amount of work, over a long time, but I'm very happy with the end result!
So it's not like I'm just sitting on the couch all day having a pitty party and wasting away! I still try to get some accomplishments done!
