Hello, I found this forum reading up on e-cigs. It's pretty mind boggleing trying to learn about what one is best to try first. And where you can get it from. I've done a fair bit of searching to try and find some local store to go into and ask questions. Can't find any here.

I am 45years old, and smoking since 13. I would like to give vaping a try, gotta quit. I smoked all the nic patches, didn't work haha.
Quit for about 5 months with Champix. But in the end went back because i missed smoking.

So these e-cigs have my interest. The action of smoking, but not smoking may help me.

If someone could recommend a first time user something half decent. A starter kit I would guess.

I am in Toronto, so maybe i should buy from Canada for first time ?. I would like one that looks like a ciggarette. Even recommend two different kinds, I'll buy 2 from the start in the hope it will get me off the cigs.

thank you for any adivse.

ok welcome, let me start by saying you will find a great deal of info on this site. however, I find it easier to learn and understand through videos and reading combined. if you wish you can start here https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCc345z36sFqyC1BheWmW_Iw
pbusardo is a top reviewer and explains a lot when it comes to devices and juice etc... look up his older videos and you will start to learn a lot about how the devices work and which are recommended.

as for where to buy, if you go on www.canvape.com they have lots and lots of devices, juice and is local to you. they have a store front in the 400 fleamarket, and I believe one downtown TO. not sure if its open yet downtown TO. it would be faster to take a drive up to barrie and check out the 400 fleamarket. it is owned by a fello named Adam hes great to deal with.

hope that helps a bit.

enjoy and welcome again.

I know about canvape because my cousin deals with this store often and raves about it. I was born and raised in Toronto but now live in Florida.

oh and vaperchase aka mindfield on this forum is also from Toronto and he is also a well known reviewer. he also started his own line of juice I think, so that's also someone whos local to you.

here is his channel

Welcome to ECF, and congrats on a wise decision to give up the smokes! I know you said you want something that looks like a cigarette, but if you're really trying to quit smoking please consider NOT going with a "cigalike". I tried those when I first started vaping and went right back to smoking because they didn't provide enough throat hit and vapor to even begin to satisfy me. BIG waste of money and I went back to smoking until I started using an Ego Twist and Kanger T3 setup. Of course, this is just my :2c:, but I can't in good conscience recommend a cigalike!

A good resource for our Canadian friends is http://vaporjoescanada.blogspot.com/.

Also, once you get 5 posts in the New Members forum, you can post in the Canadian forum for info on where to buy stuff locally.

Cheers, and happy vaping! :toast::vapor:

if your absolutely dead set on a cig style device, I would go with the eroll. in my experience it is hands down the best cig style ecig out there. the portable charging case lasts a good while (1000mah) and performs great for a cig style device. the only down fall is the tanks don't hold much juice. so you will be refilling it constantly. but I GAURANTEE you will switch to a ego or vv/vw device quickly. the performance from a cig style device and a vv ego or just a vv/vw device is night and day. best is try a few devices at a local store and see which one works.

Yup I agree, I found this site 3 weeks ago and hmmm'ed and hawww'ed and finally bought my eroll a week ago, i've had only 5 cigs in the last week, love my lil eroll, now looking to buy something else to accompany it for at home. I've started with 24mg juice too and i'm very sastified. Tried a regular cig last night and it tasted awful, threw it out.

I couldn't quit with a cigalike. Tried in 2009 and again in 2011. By 2013, I went with the ego twist and clearomizer route with strong nic juice. Finally I was satisfied and never picked up another cigarette again. More power, stronger juice, that's the ticket imho. Good luck and welcome to ECF. A great starter kit: http://www.myvaporstore.com/Vision_Spinner_Joye_Ego_C_Twist_Combo_p/vvs-c.htm. Try a spinner and a twist, an evod and an MT3s with best batteries you can get. Great colors.

There is nothing wrong with a cigalike. It has it's uses even for someone like me who uses larger devices most of the time. There is quite a bit of variance in how different cigalikes perform though. I have heard nothing but good about the eRoll for people who ONLY use a cigalike.

For me I use larger devices at home they are undeniably(by me) a more satifying vape. When I am tooling around town running errands though I use a simple automatic volt battery with a CE3 clearonmizer on it. It is small easily refillable and looks very much like a cigarette with a fancy tip on it (you don't have to use the tip if you want a more cigarette look). It is simple to use while driving with no button to push. Does not cause stares in this vaping ignorant town. Has drop it in the purse convenience when I get to the store.

In the end what anyone uses comes down to one thing. Does it work for YOU?

I used a Twist when I finally quit. Great battery, highly recommend it, easy to use. You will get so much more smoke then with most cigalikes you will be glad you did.

Edit: Also don't skimp on the cartomizer. I would recommend an Iclear 16, some of the cheapy CE4's burn to easy in my opinion, theyre usually only a few bucks more and I've never had a problem with them. There also rebuild-able so you can actually save some money as long as you don't damage the tank. I get mine here, they carry the twist also. I'm sure you can find them on fasttech too for a bit cheaper if you want to wait a while.
