Hi :)

Introduction.. hm, I am Shawnna, been vaping since mid December. (early Christmas present) I see this Very Active community and I'm hoping I can get some help here... but I don't know where to post.

My issue is with the Kanger Protank 3 replacement coils, more specifically, the new, longer ones. I am not sure where to post about this so if you could point me in the right direction I'd really appreciate it!

:vapor: Thanks in advance. And again, Hello!

Thanks for the warm welcome!

Ok I will just post my question here then, just didn't want to post in the wrong section.

First of all I'd like to say I am NOT up on the lingo. I still don't know if my tank has an atomizer, clearomizer, blah blah blah, it's greek to me. Thing came in a box without much instruction and my dad and I put it together and began vaping and that's that.

I began vaping mid December 2013 to quit smoking. It has worked wonderfully but I am somewhat ignorant of all my options other than that I have a gazillion. So far I've stuck with what I have because it works... until now...

I have the Kanger Protank 3. I had orderded some replacement coils where I get my juice, but I needed one right away so I headed over to my local shop and they sold me some. I noticed that it was long, where the ones I usually use are short. I asked and was told they changed them. They made sure for me that it fit and everything, it hit well so I was good to go. FYI when the ones I ordered came in there were two short and two long.

So the problem is the new ones freakin leak. You take a couple hits and all is well, by the third hit or so you get a bit of juice in your mouth. (yuck)

I can't imagine I am doing anything wrong, but I also can't imagine them changing their coils with a kind that doesn't work. I'm hoping someone here has had the same issue and it's sometihng simple. I only have one good short one left so I have to figure something out soon. I wanted to explore my options anyway, but I don't want to lose the use of this tank!

Just cause, this is the link that shows the ones they used to have, the ones that work for me, the short ones. The new ones look more like the protank2 heads...

WELL I tried to post the link but this site won't let me. o_O

Thanks guys........ help!

hi,
well I'm not using the dual coil pt3 (I stick with single)
but kanger started with the short (no chimney stem) then changed back
to the long chimney stem...

another thought is your shop sold you a "single coil " instead of a " dual coil "... ?

you can tell by looking at the wicks sticking out (as in picture)

just so you see how they work, here is a short/sweet video showing
disassembly of a single coil... (I do not recomended this, just a visual)

also, a good watch is this to get "your mind right" with how bcc works... ;)

good luck and keep asking if needed

Thank you, that is the exact issue I am talking about, they changed to the longer "chimney stem" ... and it's just not working for me.

It leaks into my mouth every few hits, not flooding it but that's hardly the point.

Here's a pic of the ones I am having problems with... seems dual to me based on the pics you (so helpfully) provided?

............ I am hoping someone may have this issue too and can give advice.

And I will watch the video you provided soon. Again, ty.

It looks like they sold you a dual coil. Could be some faulty or not the right brand

... well the ones I ordered before I ran to the shop are the same and doing the same thing, and I believe the short ones are dual coil too. Let me check that out, all I have are used ones but w/e, lemme see here..... they appear the same to me, looking at the wicks.

.... so are you saying I need to ask for single coil or something, that the pt3 can't use this? Two different companies sent me/gave me the same product when I asked for these, I am confused, lol.

The protank 3 takes dual coil atomizers so you are right in that aspect, but different brands could have slightly different fits. Just make sure it is the dual coils from kanger also check the seal that the rubber on the atomizer makes

i have yet to use a pt3 but have plenty of experience with pt1 and 2 .. i may be off the mark but that to me looks like a dual coil with a chimney from a single coil or am i crazy? in any case the juice going into your mouth can be from a few different reasons.
1. does your device make your protank warm? when juice gets warm it becomes watery and will tend to either flood or flow more easily than usual.
2. not enough flavor wick
3. the gasket on the chimney is not on properly or misaligned somehow.
i know i am not being much help but it is where i would start looking

Thank you all I am reading and hearing you....

Just a thought, but most shops have knowledgeable people on staff that (from my experience) are usually willing to help out those new to the game. Why don't you try taking the tank in and ask them if they could help you solve the problem?

YES. I know of a great shop nearby where, if I cannot find an answer here, I will go to to seek help. I was just hoping it was something simple that maybe I am doing wrong or could do different. I have to wait till at least Tuesday till I have money, though they can help me anyway, I wanted to look at getting another/different tank also. Back up for when .... like this happens. o_O

When the atomizer goes in the tank, the purpose of that white silicone cap is to seal the space between the atomizer and the chimney that goes up to your mouth.

Sometimes there is a little gap, and liquid ends up getting in the chimney.
You can try taking out the silicone cap and flipping it over; or add a second cap but flipped over; if the second cap fits easily then that proves you had a gap; if there is no gap, a second cap would not be able to fit.
