Hi there I'm Joe and I am a new member here. Would appreciate any help or advice I can get.
Recently upgraded from an Ego-C Twist/Protank to a Zmax V5/Protank II. When I ordered the Protank II I got 2 x 1.8 ohm resistance coil heads which worked great. When I tried to use the same heads I was using for my Protank which are 1.5ohm and 2.5ohm heads they don't work they just sizzle and produce no vapor. These heads worked fine with my Ego-C Twist/Protank but not for Zmax V5 / Protank II. I really don't understand why these heads are not working it makes no sense. Please help

Also when I ordered Zmax V5 kit I got a clearomizer that doesn't fire up it just says no load when I hit the fire button.

are the old heads clean? If not try giving them a hot water bath(just let them soak for a few minutes). after that pat dry everything, and dry fire till it stops sizzling. should be as close to new as it can be then.

The heads I've tried are brand new - fresh out of the package. I've tried 1.5ohm(new) and 2.5ohm(new) and same sizzle/no vapor. The only ones that worked are the ones that came with the Protank II(1.8ohm). I'm on the last one and it's on its last legs hence why I tried replacing it with new ones.

make sure your voltage setting is correct. the different ohms each have a different voltage setting. 2.5 ohms is 3.8 - 4.1 volts. 1.8 ohms is 3.1 to 3.3 volts. not sure what 1.5 is. if its sizzling and not producing vapor i think you are not getting fluid to the coil. take your little silicone plunger that sits right above your wick on the atomizer off and flip it upside down and put it back on. it will allow more juice to hit the wicks. try taking a hit or 2 without pressing the fire button to prime some juice into the wick then take a hit while firing.

Take one of the coils received with the pt2 and compare them to the coils you used in your original tank. On the connector pin side, compare the "shoulders" (diameter of the flange) that screw into the base. Some of the earlier protanks have a narrower rim than the pt2 coils. Those old coils will not work in the pt2 and evods.

Thanks I can try this. I use watts mostly. With the coil head that does produce vapor I can put the wattage at any setting and it still vapes. On the heads that don't work I've tried adjusting the wattage to several different settings and I got the same result.

This has to be the case anyway you can direct to a place where I can purchase heads that will work with Protank 2. Actually that can't be the problem either cause if I use those coils with my Protank and attach it to my Zmax V5 they don't work either. So the coils don't work with Protank or Protank II when it's attached to my Zmax

Does the Zmax read that its firing? the display will show voltage or wattage output by default, or does it say the "low load" error?

Yes it shows its firing. I have it set to show the resistance when I press the button so the resistance shows up. My coils work with my Ego-C Twist but not my Zmax V5. I need to get the exact coil heads that came with the Protank II cause those work. wish I knew how to get more of them .. Just had to smoke a cig since my working heads are pretty much done and my Ego-C Twist needs charging :(

I shop around online. Google Protank 2 coils and you'll get allot of options.
Wherever you purchased it from should have the correct replacement coils.
