I've stopped smoking analogs about a year ago . recenty i've run out of VG Base, and being abroad, went to a Pharmacist to buy VG. I got this (see attached Data sheet) , which he claimed was safe vor vaping. It feels somewhat rough to vape though. slight weezing and coughing -

Looking at the data sheet, is there anything i should e concerned about ?

Thanks in advance !

The datasheet looks like it was properly tested as a food grade product. If you're in the EU, I imagine that's pretty much the same as USP grade which is more commonly labeled in the US, and is also considered food grade. Personally I'd have no particular issue using it to mix.

Of course if you fall over dead after the third puff please be sure to post And share that experience with us to add to our knowledge base. :D

Seriously it looks OK. Certifications vary by country so a USP rating may very well not be listed along with the EU regulations compliance. We're used to the U.S. ratings. If you still have any doubt you can hang out and I'm certain one of our many EU members will weigh in to confirm that (hopefully).

Hi Alex. Welcome to the ECF.

Just a little DIY Tip. Most people Don't Vape pure VG because it is Too Thick. And can cause Wicking Problems.

But if you Add a couple of Drops of Distilled Water to 30ml of VG it should be Fine.

Thanks for allthe replies !
I didnt have any other choice tan pharmacy, because i am currently in taly, and the vape shops there dont even sell zero nic base in bottles bigger than 10 ml.

The stuff he sold me is only food grade (E422) non ph.eur. (which would be like USP) and it doesnt state the actual VG content. After some online research, Ive figured that the manufacturer also sells 99.5% ph.eur. VG. (compare data sheets please)

The aquired stuff, mixed with 30% PG, gives me a weeze and a slight cough, but might just be my mind playing tricks on me , hehe

Thanks !

Well, at least you’re still alive. :)

If you can get the ph.eur, it might be a better choice. Generally in the US, food grade is frequently USP grade as well. I doubt there’s anything wrong with what you got (didn’t see a second data sheet to compare against) but that would be what to look for. Enjoy to juice you mixed!

ty ! )

well, here's the sheet of the 'good stuff' I couldnt get )

Hard to say as most of it is just listed as eu.conformity. I guess next time to be super sure try to get that if you can. But personally I would use what you got and not have night terrors about the decision.

yup, that'll have to do for now. Right now I'm in Hungary, and the stuff the're selling here looks even dodgier than the italian's. Thanks for all the good advise, much appreciated !
Welcome and glad you joined.
Kind of know how you feel, what I get out of it is "If it does not say USP , I'm not vaping it.
Then again:
"It's funny, we're all concerned if flavors have anything bad in them and yet we smoked for years knowing it was all bad. I'm going to be ...... if I get hit by a bus. My last thought is going to be "But God, I only vaped the good flavors."

cheers. I am actually vaping that stuff. these grades in the link are U.S, they don't help much in euroland . Point is, I get symptoms from vaping this stuff, which I didnt get from the one I previously used. another one is: the "chlorinated compounds" in my (food grade) stuff are stated in mg/kg (parts per thousand)<|= 30, whilst in the ph. eur. VG, chlorides are stated in ppm (parts per million)<|= 10 .whole different ballpark. I dunno what effect that has when inhaled, not digested, thought someone might know.

Ive just been to a pharmacy here, in Hungary. asked for VG. He said he had glycerine, but he doesnt know if its vegetable. then he showed me a 19th century looking glass bottle, from which he would pour it . had no certificates, nothing. would you vape that as well ?
The bus analogy is over my head, sry. Guess I'll just have to see if i can adjust to that stuff, thanks for dealing with my issue.

I do get your point Alex, and really I do prefer my VG and nic and etc. to be of the highest quality possible, but it sounds like obtaining it where you are is quite hard, so you are left with a dilemma. Do you have anyone who can purchase and ship this to you from another country nearby? (I don't know what the regulations are in your area) but in your shoes I would probably be looking for another source and vaping rather unhappily.... I do hope you can find a solution that works for you, but I really don't know exactly what to suggest.

Uh yeah I’d pass on the Hungarian stuff offered as well.
