Hi, my name is Deady and I am planning on buying an e-cigarette, but after watching a youtube review that mentioned the reviewer getting 2k posts here, I realized that the brand I am considering was not even mentioned, so I wanted to find out if it was worth the money.

I am thinking of going with the Blu-e cig, but honestly until tonight I had no idea there were so many other options.

I am currently a heavy smoker who (when I can find it) enjoys Jester (bali shag) tobacco and am concerned with taste, so I was hoping to find out something about how they might taste. Also I know that normally the first brand you hear about this sort of thing are not exactly the best, so any help on Blu or suggestions of other (moderately priced) beginner e-cigs would be much appreciated.

I tried searching the forums for a Blu review, but couldn't find one.

Thanks in advance,
Deady.

Hi there.
I'm still wet behind the ears (day 8 of vaping) but have a bit of insight for you. First off while different atomizers and batteries will effect the flavor, you can put any number of different juices into any ecig. Unless you're hell bent on the convenience of pre filled carts I wouldn't get too concerned about how any brand of ecig is going to taste. Once you get a good working unit you'll be spending hours researching juice.

Regarding the Blu. I haven't used one but even if I wanted to the wait time to get a unit is 4-6 weeks (my friend received an email about a week ago letting him know his order would take that long). Don't know about you but that's just not good enough for me. Spend some time looking around this forum and the net in general and get an understanding of all the different units. I spent over a week doing research and decided on a Modern Vapor Sideshow. It's very similar to the Blu. It's a little bit longer but from what I've read, blows the Blu away in performance. From personal experience I can tell you that it's awesome. Not only that, Tony, the guy who runs the operation is a freaking champion. He responds to emails practically before you hit send and your order arrives at the speed of light. I ordered mine on a Sunday at Midnight and received it on Wednesday morning and I'm in California.

One final note on taste. Be prepared for an adjustment. While vaping is very similar to smoking, it's not the same thing. The first time I tried it, my response was "well this isn't going to work...". 3 hours later I was blowing vapor thru my nose, puffing it like a pipe, french inhaling and generally immersing myself in the taste (something I never did with cigarettes and I loved the taste of my Export 'A's).
Good luck!

there are plenty of good suppliers here in the USA that have good products. I am a 510 fan but that is what I like. Unfortunately you may have to try a few to get the one that lets you get rid of the analogs. I got scammed by the SE in a mall. But, if not for them, I would have never starting searching for something better that would keep me from buring analogs .
Good luck

seems pretty expensive for a direct supplier prices way higher than other direct suppliers i.e. HC HG EM BE
If you want something for half the price and direct from the source, try buying from China but be prepared to wait a few more days. There are many mentions on the forums but i am a huge fan of the service from www.absolutelyecigs.com

Welcome to the ECF!

Prices are on par. There are bound to be some items cheaper and some more expensive. Pay attention to the total price. Some supplier may charge less and kill you on shipping. Some may indicate a minimum purchase amount. Some may use shipping services that takes weeks with no tracking number and no responsibility assumed. Some may even be selling knock offs.

Anyway, to each his own. Everyone has their fave supplier(s).

Our job is easy. Just enjoy vaping!!

This 510 is my second ecig , the first was a kit similar to the blu the 510 is a much easier draw and gives more vapor and throat hit.

Tried juices from several places with it and they all where great with it. The carts that come with it and the juice inside is not great though ended up also buying these PTB filled carts and filled it with juice and its doing pretty dang good. There are aftermarket parts to upgrade it too if you later want some higher voltage etc.

oops Noticed cignot is out of stock another seller is NHaler which gives excellent service, and there kit comes with juice which is pretty darn tasty.

Focusing on taste is the last thing you want to do starting off. Within the first week your taste buds will change and you'll dislike things you used to like and like things you didn't realize you would. Your sense of smell and taste will change, they will become heightened and more sensitive... so trying to focus on that now, with no idea of what changes to expect is like trying to pick a color for a car when you're blind.

Find a good model, get some good liquid, and start experimenting.

My gut feeling is that seeking a halfzware (Jester, Bali) taste is going to be a disappointment. Most tobacco flavors focus on American-style preferences.

You might be better off staying away from tobacco flavors for vaping, and rolling/stuffing an analog when you crave the taste. Over time, you may find yourself craving that taste less and less (or if you do still crave it, spending less money on tobacco that's taxed at $25 a pound).

I did MYO for 6 months (with "pipe cut" tobacco after the tax hike), and while I liked my MYO cigs better than my old Camels, I'm finding that I don't miss them even though I mainly vape mint (not menthol) and cinnamon liquid.

Thanks for all the help eveyone :) Ive decided not to go with Blu, mostly because I cant order them without getting a variety flavor pack, and thats just stupid.

You know, honestly I havent been able to find Jester latley anyways :/ Im guessing it is the new taxes. Im looking into the 510, it seems like it might work. Its overwhelming, all the different brands and such.

Thanks again for the help, and welcoming me to the forums.
