Hi all. After doing a bit of off and on lurking over the past few weeks I thought I ought to go ahead and register. I've already found lots (okay, sometimes too much ) of great info here but have realized that it might be nice to be able to post questions of my own and at some point maybe even offer help to someone else.

Anyway, just thought I'd pop in and introduce myself. A quick synopsis of my (and my husband's) smoking and vaping history - we've both smoked for oh, most of the last 22 years. Ouch, has it really been that long? Moving on...we've tried to quit off and on over the years in a variety of ways with little success. Last month we went on a family vacation for five nights and couldn't smoke anywhere on the property where we were staying. We knew the vacation was coming well in advance and the plan had been to quit (ha!) before then. Well, a few weeks before the vacation it became obvious that wasn't going to happen so it's a good thing I remembered the e-cig my husband's uncle had brought with him on one of his visits. That was years ago and PVs have come a long way since then but it helped to know that such a thing existed. Of course I hurriedly ordered us a couple of kits since the thought of trying to quit cold turkey while sharing a house with my extended family put me in a cold sweat.

We started with a 510T, not ideal but we didn't know better. Like just about everyone else we thought we wanted something that while not necessarily looking just like an analog was similar in size. Also thought we didn't want to deal with carts, hence going with tanks. But we quickly tired of the short battery life and the leaking tanks as well as the hard (would that be stiff or tight? don't know the right term for what I'm trying to describe) draw and the auto batteries. We moved on to a Riva 510 and Boge LR cartos. For us, the Riva has been light years better than our first set up.

But still, not quite perfect. My husband is already thinking of a larger battery that will get him through his entire work day. Both of us are happy with Boge cartos but tired of topping off. They also don't play well with my juices, particularly BWB Malty Toffee. Hubby wants something that will hold enough juice to get him through the day (J-tank or Liquinator maybe?) along with the bigger battery he's craving. I might like the same thing but need something fairly low profile. Thinking about trying some EMDCCs or Echo-e cartos but am bummed that it seems they won't work with the awesome twisted drip tips we just ordered. Sigh... This is quickly becoming an expensive habit.

Speaking of habits...my husband has given up analogs easily, much more so than me. He dropped down to one or two a day right after getting our first kit and had stopped completely before we went on vacation. I, on the other hand, smoked up until getting in the car and only stopped for those five nights and started again when we came back. Since getting our Rivas I've found vaping to be far more satisfying and don't miss analogs most of the time. But every weekend when we drink alcohol I can't resist buying a pack to go along with it. Blech! It's driving me crazy! The nasty taste, the smell, the smoke. I hate it and regret it almost immediately, even more so the next day. But does that stop me from lighting up on Saturday night when we crack open a drink? Nope. And I can't figure out why I keep doing it to myself when I don't even enjoy it. I suppose it's all in the craving and the lack of willpower. If I had more of the latter I'd exercise every day and be 40 pounds lighter too! But that's another story.

There is one thing that I think would help me fight this weekend analog problem and that's finding the perfect liquid to go with my drink of choice. Does anyone have any recommendations for something that goes well with Twisted Tea?

Wow, what began as a simple intro turned into quite the novel. If you've managed to stick with me this long, thanks! I look forward to being part of the forum.

Welcome , to both of you . But I'm afraid your answer is not gonna be easy to answer . Tastes are very subjective . You might really like a juice , and your husband , might absolutely hate it . Luckily , my wife and I , sorta like very similar juices , that are mostly DIY , these days . I like being able to control , the nic. level , the flavor , and how much of that , and the percentage of Pg/Vg . We manage to come up , with all kinds of off the wall flavors . Some we like , others get tossed . It's a learning process .
Good luck, in your search .

I'm having a pretty easy time with the Smokeless Image Volt. It draws like an analog, has a good ammount of 'smoke' production, and is real easy to carry. The Volt is basicly the same as all the other 808's but is like half the price so I think it's a good value. If they don't do it for ya, you wasted less than the cost of a carton of analogs.

I don't get anything from them. In fact, I'll probably outgrow it eventually. Just a quick review of something that has been a good starter set for me.

WELCOME TO THE ECF AND CONGRATS TO YOU AND YOUR HUSBAND FOR QUITTING CIGS!!!!!!!!!!

I'm happy that you have decided to become a member. I lurked for a while myself and started with an ego-t type b. Four months later and I own 8 different pv's LOL. There is a lot of information on this forum for you to choose a better system. You two might be interested in pv's called "bottom feeders" which is basically a box or box-like. Carries either 3-6ml of juice and uses 14500 (4-8 hrs of battery life) and 18650's (12-24 hrs) depending on usage.

I found that this is to be the best setup for me. There are a lot of them out in the market right now and I've found that the REO was the best for me. You should look around and see what's best for you and your husband.

If you really want to stop smoking cigs yourself then I would suggest stepping up your nic level to 24-36mg. This is what I vape and has helped me quit cigs for good. It gives me the kick and nic that I need and am used to. Here is my suggestions for good vendors to try out:

https://www.nitelitevapor.us/shop/c...k15ONbP3ZdCUN7b1PAGKUi9Dx5BnoK1egFM5iUirZpEAO <----Bounty Hunter goes great with either TEA or dark liquor
Alien Visions E-Juice
Backwoods Brew
KickBassVapor E-Liquid
American Crafted E-Juice
Welcome to Vermillion River Premium E-Juice

welcome to the forum,
grats to you both-
on the topic of juices that go with beverages..
><

sorry i couldn't be more help there-i can say that for me, its either menthol, or a tobacco vape that i love when drinking-

washvap, you must have read my mind! I'm not sure how I got there jumping from one thing to the next but I've actually been reading and watching videos about the REO mini for the past hour. Which REO do you have and how long have you been enjoying it? I like the idea of the mini for myself, maybe my husband might be interested in a grand. My concern is the opening where you squeeze the bottle. Hubby works in construction and while the REO seems durable I imagine that all kinds of debris would make its way in there.

Thanks for the juice recommendations. We've already found some faves at BWB and KBV and others on you mentioned have been on my list to try.

WalksWithWiFi, I should have said that Twisted Tea is a malt beverage that tastes like tea. So I guess I'm looking for something that might pair well with tea. But really, as Renzuli mentioned, I do realize that taste is totally subjective. Just thought I'd throw that question out there and see what might come back.

Thanks for the welcome everyone!

I think that everyone here has done this before they run into something that works best for them. I actually have both the REO grand and a mini. I got my grand and mini in the 2nd month of vaping. So, it's been a little over two months now. Though I love both, I find myself using the mini more since I like to change out flavors pretty often. The 6ml bottle on the grand lasts me for 2 days if that was the only thing I was using. I basically end up HATING the juice I got in there by then LOL.

Anyways, it's really not an issue with debris entering inside of the mod through the opening for the bottle. Since the bottle is sealed and connected to the feeding tube that goes up to the atomizer/cartomizer. There is no way that something can get in there. Nor will it effect the performance of the device. Also, even if stuff ends up in the catch cup. It won't get into the atomizer neither. So, your husband not going to have to worry about that.

You should really check out the REO subforum. All the information that you will need such as batteries, chargers, etc. will be there. Also, Rob (the creator and owner of Reosmods.com) is always on there to answer any questions that you might have as well.

Reos Mods

No problem on the juice recommendations. Also glad to help and plus, I'm a juice junkie. So, I couldn't help myself LOL

Will definitely check out the subforum and the classifieds. Though I'm wondering if I might be crazy for considering a Reo. Not sure what scares me more - the cost or complexity!

Well, you can always move up to mods such as a bottom feeder or even a VV mod such as a Provari or Buzz Pro. It's really up to you and your husband in the end.

In all honesty, bottom feeders really isn't all that complex. But, if you want something easier to start out with. You can try an ego or a Riva. With either a tank, atomizer for dripping, or a cartomizer.

Electronic Cigarette - Starter Kits - Riva 510
https://www.cignot.com/product_p/kit-ego-all.htm

1000 or 900 mah batts are what I would suggest. They last roughly 5-12 hrs depending on usage.

This will give you an idea on what you might like/dislike. A lot of people are happy with those types of setups and are considered beginner e-cigs.

If you want a cheap bottom feeder:

Old Goat Mods <--3.7V bottom feeder $40
VAPAGE.com Premium Vaping, Disposable Ecig & Electronic Cigarette Outfitters <--VMOD $75
