And now another question too, what are the differences between these kanthal wires ?Well to my understanding neither of those read temperature, and that's primarily the purpose of nickel builds, so IMO you are better off with good ol' kanthal OCCs
So that would mean that I would need a DNA 40 Mod with it right ? Damn, those things are pricey. You can only run nickel wire builds on mods with temperature control. The resistance of nickel wire is so low that either it won't work in a mod without one, or it would fry.
I'm thinking of getting the HCigar DNA 40 based on some reviews on YouTubeCorrect. Either a DNA40 or the YiHi SX350J (SX Mini M Class) or the YiHi SX330 v4S (IPV 4). The IPV 4 will be the cheapest mod you can find with temperature control, selling for around $90-$100.
I have 2 mods currently. One of which is the Eleaf iStick 50W and the other a Smok x65 mPro. Also, I think I'd stick with the pre-built coils !If your mod can fire above .1Ω you CAN use a NI200 coil. I am using dual claptons on my DNA40, but have kanthal under the Ni200 so it doesnt read the temp right. I have it set at 40 watts and I'm vaping just fine.
That said, you are using a tank. I don't use tanks with premade coils so I can't confirm or deny whether or not it would work. without burning the cotton.
Unless you're doing a res/non res build, the nickel wire isnt going to help you read temps unless you get a mod thats built to read themHey all,
I'm still pretty new to vaping. I've been using a Kanger subtank mini and now I'm wondering whether or not I should buy
a 0.15 Nickel OCC Coil Head would be suitable for say,
an eleaf istick 50w or a smok xpro m65.
Could you guys help me out before
Thanks !

Thanks for the heads up ! I hope it isnt going to be a problem like the Smok m65The smok xpro m80 plus temp control has issues. I would say go for the hb dna 40. Evolve chips are solid aside from the screen glitches. If you can afford a vaporshark rdna 40 I'd say go for that cause the new ones have the updated chips. I have the vs rdna 40 and no glitches even after a whole month.
A kanger OCC nickel coil at .15 ohms? Do either of your mods fire down to .15? If you want temp control, I'd recommend the SX Mini M Class mod, it has the yihi sx350j chip inside, which can fire down to .08 ohms according to yihi and is firmware updatable. Plus, it is one fine looking mod!Hey all,

I think both the Isticks only handle down to 0.4 ohms
Damn, so it won't work i guess until i get a DNA 40 MOD...The 20 watt iStick goes down to 1 ohm.
The 30 watt iStick goes down to 0.4 ohm.
The 50 watt iStick goes down to 0.2 ohm.
