Welcome to ECF! Maybe if you gave us a bit more information (equipment, juice, nic level), we might be able to help you with some worthwhile tips. There is no rule that says you have to stop cigarettes. A lot of people here have used PVs (ecigs) to help them reduce at first, then eventually stop cigarettes altogether. Personally, I think you might need to adjust your nic level to meet your cravings. But I can't be sure until you provide some details. Good luck!

Welcome Mary. What got me off the smokes easily was a pair of Kanger Evod's with a couple extra tanks for different juices. Rotate them on the charger and chain vape away. Long slow pulls get the best vape. Get a 5 pack of replacement coils and you'll be set for a long time. Smoke a real cigarette once in a while to appreciate how truly disgusting they are.

Welcome to ECF Mary! I found it extremely easy quitting smokes with an ecig. Not everyone is so lucky. The only suggestion I could give is to make sure you have strong enough nic in your juice. I started at 18mg after smoking 1 - 1 1/2 packs a day for 40 some years. I guess I have one more suggestion....if you have any questions or need advice, get on here and ask. Good Luck!

Well I was one of those 'accidental quitters' I originally planned on just cutting down with quitting but ended up not going back from getting my first cheap ego. I'm 8 weeks in now!

Some of the things that I feel have helped me is upgrading my gear to an itaste v3 and MVP, plus getting a bunch of different atomisers to try - iclear 16, iclear 30, evod 2 and protank mini 3. Trying different eliquids, flavours, nic level and PG/VG ratio. I call this my journey to find the perfect set-up! Haha!

I get excited about getting something new and trying it out, looking up new stuff and reading/watching reviews. In short, immerse yourself in the whole world and all the different options. Pretty soon, smoking will seem pretty inferior by comparison.

I actually messed up on like my 3-4th week into quitting, got drunk with a friend and asked for one of their cigs. I feel this helped a lot as I literally took 2 draws and was almost sick! The taste and smell was awful! And compared so some of my liquids the throat hit wasn't as good! After this I never looked back.

Good luck [emoji4]

I definitely agree with NymeriaSan - the excitement of getting new equipment led me to only vape all day. I am still not over the hump as far as getting rid of having that first cig in the morning, but being around smokers all day at work makes me appreciate my ecig even more! Good luck to you and it sounds like you are on the right path!

Welcome Mary! (says one Mary to another :) )

I read about folks who take their first hit from an ecig and don't ever go back to smoking. It took me a LOT longer, but I let my HEAD win out over everything else. You'll walk away from cigarettes when YOU are ready. I know some people who are in a "transition" phase. They're still smoking, but not nearly as often. Suggestions include take a hit of a cigarette, and then take your next hit off your ecig. Try a non-tobacco flavored juice so it's perhaps more pleasing than the smoky cigarette taste. Work your way up that you're taking more hits off the ecig than the real one. You'll eventually make it :)

Cheers

Hi everyone newbe here on ecig forum. How hard is it. I gave up cigarettes a week today and on ecig . Any suggestions on staying off cigarettes . Thanks

Just keep Vaping. Once you get to a month, it's easy.

If you are finding it hard, use stronger liquid or just have a few cigs. :)

What e-cig are you using and the strength of liquid? Chances are a beginner kit might not be good enough for some smokers.
