Just joined. Found that forums are a great way to learn about topics and this looks like a very nice one.

I've been dipping tobacco for about 30 years and would love to kick it. Not sure if this will help or not but I'm going to give it a shot. I'm not sure what e juice to start with. Smokeless tobacco is pretty high in nic. I know when I've used snus that I could regulate the nic content I needed a lot to be satisfied. I assume the e juice would be the same? I haven't even gotten stuff yet so I'm open to suggestions. I do have a Kanger Sub box mini coming in the next few days.

Anyway just wanted to say hey!

Welcome to the ECF family, crawdad62! This is definitely the place to get answers to your questions. Visit a local vape shop and take advantage of their tasting bar. That will give you some idea of what flavors you might like. E-juice comes in different levels of nicotine concentration so you can adjust the level according to your needs. It's indicated by how many milligrams of nicotine per milliliter of ejuice. You might start out with a 12 mg/ml juice and an 18 mg/ml juice and see which one best satisfies your craving. Good luck on your vaping journey and keep us posted on how it's going.

hi and welcome,

as stated above try some before you buy
and maybe an extra word of coution nicotine intake will also be different from different setups, in short the more wat you put in the more liquid you use and the more nic you take in

so have a look around and when you see somthing you like ask away :)

Hello and Welcome to ECF :)

The Sub Box Mini is a pretty neat little mod. I know Kanger makes 1.5 ohm, 1.2 ohm and 0.5 ohm coils for that tank.
The level of Nic depends on you and what you are use to. I smoked over 2 packs a day an tried to start out with 24mg, but 24mg was too strong.
I dropped down to 18mg and that was my sweet spot. Then I started using 0.5 ohm coils and I dropped to 6mg, and then down to 3mg.
Just be aware if you vape below 1.0 ohm you should use a lower level of Nic, like 6mg or lower.

When it comes to picking a juice, Vaping is just like Eating Food, Only you know what you like.
Most Vape Shops, if they know what their doing,
You should be able to tell them what kind of Tobacco you used and they will try to match that taste.

First find a flavor you can vape all day long.
I wouldn't buy a big bottle right off the start, maybe start out with 10ml or even a 5ml bottle.
Sometimes you might think you like a way a juice taste, but after a half a tank or so you change your mind.
Every Vape shop should let you taste their juice. If they don't, I wouldn't buy it.

Nic - I would suggest starting out somewhere in the teens, maybe a 18mg or even 16mg.
The Nic is the easy part, they can add more or less once you find your flavor.

Hope This Helps :)

Hi @crawdad62 and welcome to the forum. Just like mentioned above, go to a local shop and see if you can find a flavor you enjoy (should be really easy). Then you'll need to figure out your nic level (I haven't a clue so I'd suggest no stronger than 6 mg in a subtank, anything higher will probably be really harsh). Once you have these two issues (since you already have good gear ordered), you can say goodbye to the chew, snuff, skoal, snus and any other method of tobacco. Vape can be life changing for you, it has for me.

I wouldn't buy more than one or two small bottles of juice to start. If the 6 mg is too strong, you can buy the same flavor in a zero nic and equally combine the two to make a 3 mg juice. It's a common practice for people finding the nic level that satisfy's the craving.

You should also read this thread : A list of symptoms when quitting tobacco and changing to an ecigarette I didn't have any of the health issues listed.

Don't be shy should you have any questions, as you can see there are many here to help answer them. Good luck in your journey.

    Wlecome to ECF!

I use to do Copenhagen, molasses plug, as well as smoke cigars and cigarettes.

Vaping is a little different than all the other tobacco products you've tried. You regulate your intake of nicotine by varying the wattage and through the selection of an e-liquid with varying amounts of nicotine in it. Low wattage, low intake of nicotine. Higher wattage, higher intake of nicotine.

There is no way that anyone here can tell what e-liquid mg/ml nicotine you need, but it may be high to start off, say 12mg/ml, 18mg/ml to 24mg/ml. In some cases the more nicotine you have in your e-liquid, the less you can taste the flavor. In the beginning, flavor may be elusive in any case, until your taste buds return fully. You can always increase the nicotine by increasing the wattage of your device, as long as you buy a decent device. In that case, I would say, don't buy anything that will not come close to hitting 100 watts.

    mg/ml means milligrams per milliliter.

Low nicotine is 0mg/ml, 3mg/ml, 6mg/ml, and probably is not going to be sufficient for you. That is all for now! Good luck.

Welcome to ECF! The juice levels are very dependent on how much you dip and how often you plan on using your vape! If your vaping all day long, picking it up say every 30 or 60 minutes, id start with 6mg. If its not helping, bump to 12. Remember that vaping doesn't deliver nicotine like dip or cigarettes do so it may take some time before you are able to realize you've taken in sufficient nicotine! Good luck!

Question for the OP since from what you said you were never a smoker do you think that vaping will be an easy transition? Even with mouth or throat hits and avoiding the lungs I wonder if it might feel harsh to you?

When I quit my PAD MB Red habit I was at 2.4 Mg and pretty quickly reduced to 1.2 Mg to 1.8 Mg to occasionally a 0.6 Mg and some Zero at times.

Good Luck with your new excursion into vaping!
